Hey all, I recently bought a brand new Type R 12" 1242D sub from GCCS and I need to break it in. Its painful breaking it in in my car and takes ages.

I have a home amp hooked up to my computer running a kenwood 12" 400rms sub SVC. It pumps hard but it gives voice thats the only problem.

My question is, Can I use a Test tone (21Hz) to break it in, seeing I can sleep with it on because its so low lol. And the sub just goes in and out but not too much, I adjust the volume accordingly.

cheers

You know your home amp is most likely designed to run at 8ohms?

That aside... i thought its been a long time since a sub actually needed to be broken in. Just run it in ur car dude.

Just install it and don't crank the fuck out of it for a while. It's not a $10k sub or anything too important.

How break in a sub:
1. Hook it up
2. use it
Dont need to bother on breaking it in, just use it normally and over time it will loosen up and go a bit louder and lower.

just run it low for a while in your car.
