So this is a little left field but I thought I would throw it open to the users of boost.

I need to decode a spdif output from a source. Just like the optical or coaxial output from say the back of a soundcard or dvd player.

I found a nice little unit from Creative the DDTS-100 but they have stopped making it (and honestly it was overpriced). Yamaha also made one in the past but once again its very very expensive.

Does anyone know of a nice cheap standalone decoder? Im even happy to build something if someone can point me in the right direction. I did find this nice little IC CS4365 that looks like it will do the job but its lots of work to design a circuit from scratch.
