Congrats. Can you please keep us informed of everything else available on the internet for download and what else you intend on installing?

I installed it last week. The install process is much faster then any other windows OS because it's virtually like a ISO image that gets extracted.

Its feature packed with loads of new windows Themes. And yes its is much faster then Vista, but then again I'm using the 64bit version. I downloaded the virtual XP add-on last night but have not gotten around to installing it yet. Even though its RC1, unlike Vista, I don't think there will be a RC2, it will go straight to RTM in a few months...

PS. Everything that I had running on Vista64 machine also runs on this RC1 version.

Downloaded it earlier today. Am thinking of either Parallel booting it on my MacBook or dual booting it in BootCamp.

Why...Because I can. tongue.gif

Yeah
I had build 7000 installed on one of the PC's near me here at work and then got rid of it cause I wasn't allowed it
"johno, your a Network Admin, not a desktop helpdesk person or server admin, do your real job"

so downloaded RC today and installing it this weekend

it is alot faster I'll admit but I think there might be a few more bugs that need to be ironed out before releasing.

It's due for release in August and they said they are ahead of schedule with this version.

I'll be sure that if I didn't mention it or anyone else didn't, you would know sweet fuck all about it bud.
.Woody.
Installed it via BootCamp this afternoon on my MacBook. Runs alot quicker then Vista ever has. Haven't really mucked around with it yet though. Gotta figure out how to get sound, right click, and scrolling to work lol.

as if... it's slow and it's a pain.
cant wait to upgrade my vista to windows 7
driftn180
somehow i think he meant Windows 7 is Vista done right.

Anyway i have been mucking around on it for a while. Google chrome doesn't work overly well on it yet. and when internet browsing i find i have to refresh pages all the time in IE8

might be something with my PC but i don't see what.

i loved the fact that all the drivers installed as soon as i had booted up and the online activation before first boot actually worked because the network driver was loaded during the install.

Set the display on both my monitors straight away. I have had the explorer crash on me so i reset the computer (hold the power button down) when it booted back up my session restored with all my programs still open which was very cool.

Love the installation being so smooth, but.... where the fuck has my classic start menu gone?

I hate the big and gumby "new" style start menu! (where 'new' = 'since XP'... but at least you could turn it off then)

Its all about having dark and smooth UI's now, ive found myself using the grey Windows Classic theme, though.
John.
Been using 'Windows 7 Ultimate; build 7100' for the past two days, I'm not a fan of '7'..

Vista Ultimate is where its at.

Also the install of x64 was slow as fxck!, but I think that may have somthing to do with my HDD's & DVD Drive being sata.

PS. I hate the huge fcking taskbar!

Just change the size then. You can choose whether to make the taskbar icons small or large....or even download a small program (forget the name, just google it) that lets you use the old classic style. thumbsup.gif

I have nothing but praise for 7...it does everything Vista did, and more, FASTER smile.gif
SuperDooperCudi
ive got it, its awesome
