+1 on window.
Bad HDR'ing. Let me guess, Photomatix? Make sure you set your light smoothing to max otherwise it gets all funky.

^^ my old boy has the GT hence being able to get photos of it...
thanks again for the feedback
shot this last weekend... includes the new front end i fabricated for my car.. pretty happy with the results and photos.. trying not to post to many car pics as there is lots here but oh well...
Nick_
Aug 4 2009, 08:09 PM
Cant even see the front end man! I assume you mean the grill, not the guards, bumper, bonnet, lights etc.. as in a 'front end'.
byza
Aug 5 2009, 11:31 AM
yeah fair enough.. i did a conversion which removed the VW badge on the front of the car... if you are familiar with VW's you would notice but if not, it doesnt stand out as much... the strip is also white rather than the OEM red

not 100% happy with this shot as the sky has blown out.. this is my first water sunset so still learning and was focusing on getting the water right with a longer exposure...
Nick_
Aug 13 2009, 08:51 PM
Get a GND filter, or use a polariser to stop down the sky. polariser in full effect = 2 stops, grads start at 4.. i think..
byza
Aug 25 2009, 08:43 AM
Been shoting 5 months to the day these were taken.... i need to get some grad Filters and also a 10-20mm lense so these are next on the list...
enjoy and thanks for everyones feedback and help... appreciate it...

oh and finally stitched this 8 shot pano... looks alright...

5 shot pano, did you shoot it with a tele? it seems to not be terribly wide.

Got a link to a bigger shot? It'd be nice to see it in a decent res like it SHOULD be viewed in rather than some pissy res cause old boost dicks haven't upgraded from a 14" monochrome and 9.8kbps.

Sep 8 2009, 08:06 AM
a friend lent me a 10-20mm sigma on the weekend so i could get a feel of it before i buy one.. very impressed with the lense but takes some getting used too... higher res shots available in my flickr link in my sig...
here is a 7 shot pano....

another one just before the storm...

Pano is cool. Try out the 17-40L though, I was going down the route if the UW's but decided on the 17-40L because for the price of a local lens, I could get one with a $300RRP CPL & shipping from B&H and STILL save $20.. (so technically like $400 saving).
