hey guys my pc is about to shit itself... literally its at it's last days, probably got my virusus on it than an old Indonesian man and it's about 2 years old either.

This is pretty much what i need to the system to do:

1) go faster than my 2 yr old system smile.gif good old 2.4ghz!

2) be able to multi task well

3) be fucking quick!

yep thats it really... i do a shitload of burning and transferring files.

I don't need a screen as i've got a 32'', so just after the tower.

i went down to my local computer store and they tried to flog me this...

Pentium E5200/2.5ghz/2mb Cache/800fsb
MSI G31M3-L V2, Intel G31/LGa775/,FSB 1333
2GB 800MHz(Pc2-6400)DDR2
Onboard 128mb Video
Seagate 250gb 7200 8mb
ATX 500watt power supply

For $840.... now i no a little bit about computers but nothing about prices really... from what i read on here though i'm sure u guys could whip up something better or more suited to my needs!

Remember i only want to keep it at about $600!

Cheers smile.gif

I build a my computer every 2 years and budget $700. So next couple months I'd be looking at 6gig ram, 1tb hd, whatever there for 150-200 each for cpu, m/board, video card. Keepng my tower P/S and yeah she'll be good as gold for another 2 years.

Where are you located?

In NSW there are a few descent places.

Try

www.itestate.com.au

Give them a budget and what you want it for - general use / graphic design / media centre / gaming etc etc

They have some reasonably cheap prices.

don't buy windows..

Bit rich from me, since i bought vista ultimate 64bit..

Other ways of acquiring windows.. spend that money you would on the OS on something else..like more memory or bigger hdd..

graphics card looks shithouse but if your just gonna be in windows and not playing games it should be good
