hi i own a silvia s13 with a rb28det stroker motor in it and have been competing up north in time attack and hill climb the car is currently pushing 438kw is this to much for drift ?
should i just buy another car and set it up for drift?
as im new to drift and am used to the idea of grip any help would be great.
Short anwser is no.
If your good enough to steer you can use that power.
However having that much power in an unbalanced chassis; RB26 puts additional weight over the front is going to make learning tricky.
Ideally if you can keep your chassis; as I assume it has all the suspension adjustments, brakes, LSD etc and put an SR20 back into it you'll find it will be a lot easier to get into it.
The two hardest things generally for grip racers to over come when they transition to drifting is their instinctive tendency to want to 'correct' the car once the tail end comes out and their inability to let the steering wheel spin freely to unwind opposite lock.
Best idea is to go study some video's or jump in with an experienced drifter to see the differences.
