Hey Guys,

Im moving houses, and wondering how long it 'usually' takes ISP's to connect at a new address?

Im looking at going with TPG or internode, any comments on these two would be good too.

thanks

that will depend on few things...

does your new house have the right lines already installed? installing the line usually take up most of time taken to open new connection. Once you have the right line, getting connected should be done within a day or two.

Internode is good because if you download or play games within the internode network, they don't count the bandwidth used for the transfers (well, they didn't back when I was on them)...

I think TPG provides more coverage.

sorry, its a pre-established house im just moving into it. The guy at work reckons it took him 6 weeks to get internode to connect him when he moved, i thought that was a bit ridiculous

yeah when i got optus, it took them 2 weeks to send someone and install the cable. And that was them doing us a favour as we were already on their phone plan

it's shit but taking 6 weeks don't really surprise me

lol, I have spent the last 10 weeks trying to get the STUPID FUCKING INTERNET!!W#@!@

I moved into a new unit, so i had to get telstra to connect a new phone line.. they fucked up the address 5 times, each time taking a week... after the 6th week of calling and being on hold for an hour at a time they tell me, oh actually, we did it the other day and didnt tell you.

then 2 weeks for the internet company to take control of the phone line(1 week of which nothing was accomplished saying that they had a few problems), 1 week to get the adsl on the line and another week to send me the modem...

so 10 weeks later and i still dont have the internet.
