Lol, meeting people from boost without alcohol involved would feel unnatural. Shame there is an global financial crisis going down, Andrew could have attended otherwise smile.gif

I am down for some dinner or something, just give us a call.

Howdy all. Im a newbie to this site, Ive joined a few of em while I have been building my project. Its a 1968 Mercedes 280SE. However its been a little modified. Ive fabricated in a 350 Twin Turbo Chev and T700 gearbox and a Series III Jag diff. Also added a sunroof (about 45 cars in Australia came out with them) and some other little upgrades here and there. By my calculations, I should end up with around 650 RWHP - if the diff can keep up!

Anyways, Im also a wheelchair bound quadriplegic so this build has been a little challenging for me to say the least. Almost all the work has been done by me, by hand so keep that in mind when you take a look at it.

I was hoping to meet a few people om here who could help me set up the twi turbo side of things. I have stainless steel turbo headers, TT 300zx intercooler, BOV's, programmable ECU (by 034 motorsport), Ignition module (Crane Cams Fireballs Hi-6N) but I got a HEI dizzy (which I dont think I need). All this hooked up to a tuned port injected 350. I have yet to source injectors but was looking at 60lb low impedance ones.

Im not sure if I need a trigger wheel or can I pick up the crank signal from the dizzy? Any other setup type info would be awesome!! Things like sensors (such as O2 sensor), MAP sensor (although the ECU has a 2.5 Bar one in it already), boost control (I only want to run around 5-8 psi) and anything else I may have missed.

Oh, and sign me up for the get together, would be good to meet some new people.

here's the link to my build: http://cripple.hioctanedesigns.com.au

Holy shit dude that's freaking amazing.

Now we HAVE to have a catchup!
gwunta
I think you were talking to me but not sure. Yeah patience is one hell of a virtue when you are in a chair!! The part that has sucked the most was getting underneath the car to take off all the noise deadening crap Mercedes sprayed on it 40years ago. Not only does that crap go everywhere, its a real pain in the ass (an yes I can feel mine hahaha) when you forget to grab a spanner or screwdriver and have to go through the whole process of getting out from underneath the car (remember I can only use my arms and shoulders), getting up into my chair, grabbing the tool I need then getting back onto the ground and underneath the car again.

Anyways, let me know what time and address can yeah, it woud be good to catch up

hey dude. cheked the pics out of the engine. Its nice same engine in my vette! How old is that engine? it looks like iron heads 1984 to 1987!?

I like the idea of the twin turbo. But i have to say that engine would give you a lot more if you had superchrged it! Less work and more power. or even better a 383 stroker kit would have done the trick....

The only thing sux about that engine for turbos is that, that engine runs hot all the time. coollent tem between 90 to 140 and oil is 100 to 150. and having those turbos running off it you would need a good cooling system otherwise you would have heaps of problems, thats why most people supercharge them less problems...

To get some ideas on how to work on that engine if you want to runs those turbos off it check out the callaway corvette c4 sleghammer that should give you some really good ideas.

Anyways good luck with it mate!!!

youbUTEless 33
woah, thats amazing

im going to road trip to perth just to meet you guys.

maybe in july
gwunta
Thanks for the advice. Yeah I was aware of the cooling problem and I am going to mount an additional pair of radiators under the front floor pans on the driver and passenger sides and then run a pair of thermo's on each radiator that suck the air rather than blowing it. As for oil cooling, yeah I dont know how I will get over that, maybe a separate cooler for it, similar to a gearbox oil cooler.

The reason I am doing twin turbo is that it isnt done that often, I mean how many supercharged small blocks do you see compared to turbos..Why? Because its the lazy way, the easy way..Nothing about my life and my project has been easy so I want to reflect that in my build.

Anyways, thanks for the advice, I will take a look at that sledgehammer and hopefully get some more info

@ youBUTEless - yeah that would be awesome, Im planning to have my car on the road by then, and its my birthday on the 19th of July so I wanna definitely be smoking the rears by then
