gday. i got a ke70 that i want to set up for drifting. i was thinking about jst putting stiff springs and shock all round. how would this go? it is a bit cheaper than coilover. can i put camber tops on the front to have some camber?

having the lower control arms lengthened by a machine shop is cheaper than camber tops.

weld the diff before you bother with shocks and springs if you want it to drift half decent. there are many many ways of cheaply setting these things up to slide well... do your research

try get yourself some xt130 struts and brakes and LCA's, wil give you some camber bigger brakes and you will be able to fit heaps more shocks in them, some excel g's or something would work well, and theres heaps of cars that have springs that u can get from the wreckers for cheap and are plenty stiff enough, have a look at falcon gear

in the rear use some falcon au springs and im pretty sure like vs or vr shocks are good cos they are a little shorter than stock so still allows for plenty of travel

if you are keeping the 4k then i would say weld your diff and dont worry about camber cos if you have a 4k you are going to be sliding in the wet and in the wet there is no need for any camber as it just gives you less grip

get some au falcon spings. cut them, there is your stiff spings. you can use them front and rear.(bout 10 bucks a spring from the wreckers) get suzuki sierra shocks for the back. they bolt straight in and will keep your spring captive. for the front get some short stroke inserts. boostloosing is the last place you wanna try for help. your car will only get mocked. go on www.ae86drivingclub.com.au not only is everyone more helpful but the parts for sale will all be relevant. not fully sick volt crystals bro. if you need help let me know, i am building a ksev skidder atm. so i will help where i can.

if your seriouse in making this thing slide and setting it up to how u want it to handle(drift) i would definatly look into getting adjustable pan hard rod and 4link adjustable rear arms. u will need these to make it less grippy. as with anything unless u have a sr20 or something in it it's always gonna be pretty grippy in the dry. but yer just depends on what u mean by u want to drift it. (wet weather battles, or track) as some one ele said jump on ae86drivingclub.com.au

there is a video around to convert the stock front suspension to coil over. You will have to know how to weld and dismantle tho.
