I'm wanting to find a good host that can provide emails for a forum or website without having to be hosted with the host.. if you know what i mean..

just wanting the email capability..

Theres plenty of websites that provide free email redirection so you can have emails sent to yourusername@their-domain-name.com sent to yourusername@hotmail.com instead. Just search "free email redirection" for a list of them.

If you want a domain.com that you specify, you're going to have to buy it. Typically around USD$9.95/year - some a little cheaper, alot much more expensive. The more expensive ones are purely a rip off.

Just pay $2/month for somewhere like cove.com.au.... you get fuck-all allowances, but if youre being poor about it its one way to go. Alternatively spend ~12/month with a US hosting company and get unlimited everything + a free domain name and use it as your own personal photobucket/imageshack that never runs out of bandwidth.
