nah not really mate, i got to bed pretty late so im usually pretty tired by the time i do them, i does get me worked up a fair bit because i kind of have to get a bit agro etc to do them because i try to push myself as far as i can go, so i guess it would make it harder for me to go to sleep but i usually read a book or something for 20 mins after to calm myself down. I would do them at some other time but im so busy no two days are ever the same so before i go to bed is pretty much the only time i have to get into a rhythm of doing it.

Make sense most of it, at PT school they said your brain can only use carbs for fuel, but Dr D says its a myth, it uses ketones, but dont u have to be in ketosis for that then?

Don't really have a goal atm, just to be fit i suppose. I love the feeling being fit, healthy and strong gives you, like how you can just do thing so much physical stuff better and easier than most people, and it gives me a fair bit of satisfaction after a hard workout.
Back in school i used to swim competitively and train 5/6+ times a week, so i was swimming 25km+ per week and that kept me fit and was my goal for doing other work outs, but now i've stopped that i've been getting into the general fitness side of things lately, like i don't want to specialise in one particular thing, just want to be fit and be able to do just about anything, wether it be lifting big weights, push ups or running 10km, thats why i really like the boxing thing im doing at the moment, it's not really true boxing, it's more fitness based. We spar a little bit but also do alot of bag work and cardio stuff.

Specific workouts to do specific things, and or progress threads on individual performance / goals.
Great idea. Thanks for our own section Nathan. So far our threads have managed to keep most trolls and spammers out, so it's been going well. Plus hopefully some of us have put some light on some areas that people needed advice with.

hey damo, just read in a article, L carnitine and Acetyl L carnitine work the best on high fat diets...
Mit20, try eating more potassium see if that helps your decreased performance in the gym
hey b

Yeah it can have some bad side affects, it is the main ingredient in speed after all. Hence why you can't just buy normal stuff over the counter here. The pseudo stuff is not as bad, but can still cause problems especially in high doses. How much leaner are you trying to get though? You would be best to just stick to your low carb/high carb phase, so you can get a general idea of how well it has worked for you.

TUF, why dont u try the anabolic diet, your pretty much replace all your carbs with good fats, thus controls insulin better and increase test and GH.
It could help you lower your body fat to 11-12%
Im only 3 weeks into it feel fine, my sex drive has been way up, that would be the test i reckon! Plan to stay on this diet for a long time. maybe 6 months.

Thanks mate, it has been almost 2 years tho since we crossed paths. I was cardio for 45mins 5 mornings a week and weights 5 nights a week. Probably went a bit hard on myself for an over 30's guy but i just snapped and wanted to do something about it. I'm happy now.

I will have to research this diet you speak of. Currently i just changed from very low carbs/high protein diet for my fat loss to a higher carb diet but have not noticed much of an increase, i'm not as tired tho thats about all the positives for me. The Creatine was really good for gains at first but seems to have tapered off and i'm looking to stop using it. To be honest my sex drive is not what it used to be and only really noticed it since i been on this diet the last 10 months. I just put it down to my age and accepted it.
I will give the anabolic diet a good go thats for sure. I only want to be a tiny bit bigger then I am and I will be stoked. Actually if I could be the same size as i am now after a pump when i'm not pumped that would be great. Wait and see I guess.
Thanks

WOW that was a long read but well worth it. I understand it more after reading about his diet thanks for the link, I appreciate your effort. I will stick with it as I can easily cut down on my carb intake as similar to when i was on high protein/low carb diet. I just need to include the fats into it as well. I am going to try having my carbs at night instead of morning, this will take a bit for my body to get used to but i'm dedicated to give it a good go.

Hi guys,
Is it normal for me to feel pins and needles in my feet after approx 20 minutes of cardio on the bike and cross trainer? It only occurs from the arches forward to my toes and doesn't travel further up my legs. Goes away approx 5 minutes after I get off the machine.
I'm used to walking a couple of km's a day and don't push my cardio to the point of faltering or muscle failure. I've even loosened the laces on my shoes a little but to no effect.
Have my first appointment with one of the trainers at my gym tomorrow to work out a month's program for me so I'll ask them but wonder if others experience this.

I have had similar sometimes when using a cross trainer for long cardio sessions, like 45 mins or so. My shoes are a few years old, so I put it down to they aren't as supportive as they used to be. Plus it can be a bit of a strain on the muscles in your feet I suppose. I was going to go to a shop like Athletes Foot and get a new pair and ask them sometime over the next few weeks.

3kg in a week is alot, pretty much all of that would be water weight so dont panic.
You keep exercising so your body fights the bug off faster, make sure your cleaning your hands after the gym

Whatever you do, learn how to do it right the first time. It's like posture, very hard to correct once you have been doing it a long time. The compound movements are one of the best to work multiple muscle groups and generate power but if you have shit technique you will do yourself a heap of harm. You could even see if someone at your local gym is accredited by the australian weight lifting association to give you some pointers.
