was just having a look at some of the pics other users have posted, some pretty good shots from heaps of different people that's for sure..
thought i'd share some of my shots, i don't edit my shots at all mainly because i don't like edited pics that much, but that doesn't mean i don't like any edit pics

my camera is a SONY a300..
only got two lenses which come in the a300 twin lens kit *google it if you want to know what sizes they are*
hope you like them

PLEASE NOTE THE PHOTOS ON HERE ARE NOT THE SIZE THEY ARE, THEY ARE RESIZED SMALLER

in this shot, i change the temp of the color

CC time from me. They're all pretty good as far as interesting scenes go, the cat one is definitely my pick of the bunch. Black and white works well, good focus on the eyes. Possibly could use a slight crop to take a few cms off the top of the image.
Second one, the bikes on the corner, just wondering why you used portrait orientation? Could have been interesting to see the corner leading off if you left it as a landscape? Apart from that, you've blown the sky, expose for your highlights. Looks like an overcast day though, always makes things difficult.
The skater shot, good action, it's front on, one of the main problems I see with these types of shots is that the face isn't included. It's a shame the sun was high overhead and giving you a shadow. One easy way to get rid of that would be to introduce some off camera lighting, (on camera probably would have sufficed), have the flash on the ground and aim it towards where the skater will be, trigger it remotely and you have a well lit skater. Also gives you the option of underexposing the background to make the skater stand out even more.
The last one, it's a nice sky, and a nice ocean scene, it could possibly do with a bit of PP, just to get the colours looking that little bit extra, no harm in changing the colour temp of sunsets if it gives you a dramatic image.
One thing I'd like to say though, is that all of your shots are very central, and could use some composure changes, rule of thirds would be the big key. Cats eyes to be level with the top third of the photo. Bikes on the first third leaving the right of the photo open in landscape mode to promote that it's a bike ride shot.
Skater in the first third again to promote movement, showing that he has more land in front of him to keep travelling.
And finally the boat, either the first or last third would be good, but it looks like you need to show more of the image below as well - by keeping the horizon at the bottom third you may have been able to keep the entire boat in the shot.

cat shot is the best by far.
The only C&C I have is for the skater shot there is to much stuff in the background drawing my eye and to far away.
For skate shots you want more of a closeup and industrial feel, have a look in slam/thrasher you'll see what I mean

to add to that.. in skate photography keep the position of landing in frame to show where the skater is going to land rather than just air..

Touche with Nick on this one.
It's to under-exposed, looks abit OOF or blurry, either, I can't check because exif view doesn't work with 3.1. The subject itself isn't all that interesting also, but keep your practice up!
