can u drift a non turbo car like i know u could but will it be hard not having a turbo but wanted to know if it was possible?
supreme
lol being a non turbo and not having a turbo
Stanislav
lol of course its possible to do, the ae86 rollas have like 73kw atw, youd definately be able to drift S15 na's, id stay away from the supra purely because theyre large and could prove difficult to get out sideways without turbo
Marcus89
well yea would be really easy in the s15 with the Autech version the power output of the N/A is the same as the turbo ADM variants and has the helical lsd. being 1200-1300 odd kg's it's light enough too.

The supra could i guess but it'd definitely a heavy car don't know how it'll go
Toni
ohk thnx mate so a s15,13,14 or a skyline would be better than a supra
aristo
supras can get very sideways, oh wait yuo mean the non twin turbo verison.. yeah good luck with that tongue.gif

depends on weight and driver
Toni
yer i know the turbo version can but cause i am on my p's i want a non turbo car so i can do my drifting on the track and off the track but need to know wat would be the best for it and non turbo s15s the autec versions are begining to be hard to find
aristo
and i have driven a N/A s13 sideways around a round about for about 2 minutes before i stopped it because a car came tongue.gif
Toni
was it wet or dry???

buy a turbo s13 and dont drive like a wank on the roads and you wont get pulled over... i know many peeps who do

or just buy a NA s13, youll have fun no matter what way you go

R31's are awesome cars too one you fix up the shit stock suspension lol

it depends how you drive it and how aggressive you are, cause i know people who aren't aggressive and they suck at drifting, then i know people who are aggressive as fuck and kick it out like there's no tomorrow
Toni
yer i am aggressive driver when i want to be but if i cant be fucked i aint aggressive or i get stuck behind some slow fuck i will put the foot down and pass them and then drift it up in my mu daewoo lanos HANDBRAKES LOL but i am aggressive at times

go out in different cars, drive different cars then you'll see which one suits you the best thumbsup.gif
clutch-monkey
can drift a non-turbo car easily, put a V8 in oopsie.gif
why not just get a turbo s13 as a track hack?
Toni
i had been drifting a 5 speed manual vn commy loweed rims and shit and that was a v6 and that slid ok was doin just as good as s13s and shit but then a fuking soarer ran into when i was parked it was fucked and punched the guy in the fucking head

clutch-monkey
where the hell were you parked that someone could drift into it??
like i said, just get a turbo silvia as a track hack if you're worried about it
Toni
not too worried i was parked near ummm harbour town and yer guy drifted a set of lights and lost it hit my car when i was in f1 tyres on brissy road

That sounds like a really good deal as the Autech s15's usually sell for more than spec R s15's
Toni
thnx mate will consider it but still a while till i get money was just wanting to know wat peopel thought would be the best this to do
someblackguy
i love it how people think they can get a car and start drifting everwhere because thats what cars a made to do

drifting fucks your car. suspension, chasis, engine, drivetrain, clutch all get a hard time when people start drifting.

drifting your only car that you use as a daily hack and weekend warrior seems really silly to me.

sure not all of us have the money to have a dedicated drift toy and daily driver but like everything else in the automotive world, when you start trying to cut corners and do things the simple, easy and cheap way things are going to start to going wrong.

best of luck to ya anyway

only vid i can find atm i spun on this one unfortunately
my non turbo jza80 completely standard here
they are not to heavy they just need the normal mods coilovers lsd etc...
ive recently upgraded clutch and have now got lower RS*R springs

im planning to do a fair bit with mine na..
power is not everything in drifting..
01sik
just buy a ae86 they are n/a and are drift royalty just about

thats reflected in their retarded price damn takumi tax

yer still cool........not many people drift any jzx series over here its a shame cos they look sooooo sexy sideways.....and probly too expensive to drift here because of parts availability i guess????

yea theres a few going around you can get jzx90's manual for pretty cheap but i only like the look of them when they have a sweet kit dropped on their guts and massive rims so theres the costs. Manual jzx100's have a massive premium and drifting a auto theres fail lol possible with a shift kit but still i say meh
slipway
r31's are awsome. parts are cheap, motors are cheap so you can trash the shit out of them, s13 stuff goes in easy, easy to turbo if you need and bodys are cheap so you can be agressive and push it really hard with out the worry of stacking you expensive s15 or the like
Marcus89

yea if i was going for a drift hack i'd most probably go r31 should be able to get enough power/torque from the rb30 with some cheap bolt on mods lock up the diff and get some decent suspension in there or then obviously some cheap ass s13 is just as good ca18det ones are cheap as now
0b3hv
you can drift a supra, but cause of there weight they tend to be a bit hard to drift. i would go with a r31, chuck in a lsd, suspension and your all set.
nash
non turbo supra are roughly 1450 kg. lighter than a 350z, current wrx's and evos. should be fine
phillo89
i slid a na s13 with coilovers and a 2way diff for 12 months and never broke a thing (exept tires), as for whats easier supra has more power so it will keep the tires spinning easier but silvia will handle better cause its lighter and parts are heaps easier to get!! u can slide anything its just some cars are easier to drive than others and thats it

this is true the lack of power in the s13 would mean you would want to go into the corner at higher speeds to have inertia help u drift through the whole corner thats if it is a huge corner and such. Underpowered cars force you to learn all the other techniques required in drifting other than 'Foot go down back kick out' lol
driftspec32
of corse u can drift a non turbo u just got to love the high rpm i drive a na 32 rb25 i do round abouts in 1st and if i snap 2nd off limiter it loves it
Dean_k_:)
pretty much low power drift car rely on suspension and driveline set-up.

Good diff ratio and a stiff ride is a good start and lock or 2way you diff.

Driving with reduced power requires more weight shifting and general abuse of the car...i find its funner flogging the ringer out the car aswell.

I have a natro sr in my stanza and will link corners no worries if driven right..
michael_90
you can drift a supra but thay arent really the car for it .. i have an n/a manual supra and you can get them sideways prity easy but thats not what i bought it for so i dont do it often .. if i wanted to drift id probly lean towards an s15 or just a drift hack like said in previuos posts
