hey everyone, i just put a new head unit in my car (VL wagon) and i was running twin subs and just the stock 4 inches which i was very happy with but the head unit i had wasnt MP3 so i swapped the subs for an mp3 hu. so i thought i would put my xplod 12 inch sub in it and run it off the amp i was using to run the twins. so i connected it all up and when it got to the sub i plugged it in and wired everything up the same as the twins were but the sub started going crazy. it sounded like interference or something so i ran a direct remote and RCA to the amp and still no difference. any help why it could be doing this would be good. cheers

Make sure your rca cables and power cable are not touching, and only use the required length of cable.

Are you trying to bridge two channels that aren't capable of doing so? Happened to a mate of mine, the amp was 2ch and he tried bridging them, but the amp wasn't designed for it, wouldn't work right. Considering you used to run twins, and now trying to run a single make me think of this.

thanks for the help guys. i tried running an RCA directly from the hu to the amp and it still did it. i had my twins bridged off the same channel so thats why its confusing me. i was running a 1500w 15 inch sub off this same amp before with no problems so i dont think it would have a problem running the 1000w 12 inch. mafiosa the RCA cable is on the other side of the amp to the power cable and the RCA and the power wires are ran down different sides of the car so it cant be from that either
