Not bad, there's not really anything too special there, he needs practice and definitely needs some lighting for his night shots.
As much as it sucks, I'd even offer to do some for free until he gets better - after all it'd get his name out, and a lot of people love photos of their car no matter what it looks like.
Not meaning to offend his level of work, I guess I'd be about the same really.
Problem with offering free work is being nailed down as "that dude who shoots shit for free", which is never good for someone looking to get into the scene which, I think, is accurate to Wat'rs description. Every Tom, Dick and Harry who owns a prosumer or SLR think's they can shoot shit for a living. Even people who shoot shit for a living will attest to it not having an ever-steady flow of cash vs a 'standard' 9-5 job, which would totally suck, needing to travel interstate for a big gig but not having the cash to get there for instance..
But whatever, if he can go pro, good on him, I'll dream of it while I talk on my company-paid mobile, whilst driving in my company-owned vehicle on the weekend with company-paid fuel, buying/doing shit with my money that comes from a reliable pay source. Being a pro photographer is like being a pro playboy, the very slim minority can pull it off and "get rich".
I agree with Bax too, nothing in that DA profile hits me as professional or even serious-amateur, I'd like to see the results of this photoshoot.
