Ok so im hopeless when it comes to car audio dunno.gif

I currently have a soundstream 12inch PCW-12 sub in my car with a Soundstream Little Wonder 2 Amp, packs a punch as it is drool.gif

However I have another sub the same as above to go in at some point....the amp is a 4 channel but will it be strong enough to run both subs at the best level or is it best to get a 2nd amp in???

im sure one of you smart boys or girls will be able to help happy.gif

hey, if u want the subs to run at the best level your better off getting two amps, that way you can run them at full capacity without any problems
Charmed
ah k cheers for that smile.gif

now I need to go shopping for a new amp tongue.gif

Grab yourself a monoblock amp, their designed for subs. use your 4 channel for speakers
EUniqe
with your four channel amp, you can bridge the channels so that you have a double as powerful two-channel amp. this way you can use both of the new bridged channels wich are double as powerful as each of the four individual channels to run two subs.

how are you running the sub atm?
Rust
Throw it all out, no point weighing your car down with things that belong in your living-room.

or at least secure it...

its secure, have a awesome alarm on my car that covers the boot and the way the sub is installed now ( I had a new floor cut and installed it myself, was rather proud lol) it will take tools and more time then people care to get that thing out thumbsup.gif

if my car is parked on the lawn overnite and the paper dude hits my car with the paper when he throws it over the fence my alarm goes off and wakes me and the neighbourhood lol, have to keep the keys within reach laugh.gif

If you want to do it on a budget, it is possible to hook 2 subs upto a 4 channel amp, you have several options,

1) bridge both sets of 2 channels ( front and rear ) to give you 2 outputs instead of 4 this will give you 2 channels out of that amp, one for each sub at equal power.

2) run both subs of the rear outputs bridged ( if your subs are 4 ohm ) this will give you 2 ohm loading and on most amps will give you near full power ( 4 ohm loading is usually half power ) and run your front speakers / splits off the front outputs in single channel mode

3) in the long run I would recommend running your in car speakers off the 4 channel amp ( one channel per speaker ) and invest in a Monoblock sub amp, bridget the output to 2 ohms with dual subs and run the amp at full power, this way you get maximum power and the most control over fades and balance.

Hope this helps

just go to wow and grab a mono block. about $300 got me my mono and its got enough POWAHH to run what you got
the_random_hero
As already mentioned, swap 4 channel amp over to running speakers and go buy a monoblock.
