angry.gif Hi guys,
Just a warning, Shedco have just gone into recievership as of last friday.... Rang them to see when my new 16X7.5m shed would be ready for delivery only to be told
"Oh the creditors will be in touch in coming days"........ $9700 deposit could be down the drain....... What sort of f*&^%#d setup allows them to take a deposit and come up with no goods......

Fingers crossed for next week but on all accounts it doesn't look good

Cheers Franky

it is unwise to pay to much, but it is worse to pay too little. When you pay to much, you lose a little money thats all. When you pay to little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the job it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot, it cant be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better. Quoted from Mittler brothers machine company.
not having a go just some philosphy on the real cost of things. and the old saying of "if you by a quality product from a long running business then the quality remains long after the price is forgotten" Hope it all works out

Ed,
Under the contract you have to pay 50% deposit for the shed to be fabricated...and they weren't the cheapest and not the dearest.......... just spoke to administrators and will know more within the fortnight...... doesn't look good and as usual Shedco have been pissing in everyones pockets telling everyone that their shed is guaranteed.

just go in there with a truck and take as much stuff out of the store as will fit in the truck, take tools even take the things bolted down, until you are sure that selling everything cheap cheap will cover the cost of what you have paid them.

I’m not totally sure i agree with this!
M&D just had a new fence installed - wasn’t the cheapest by a long shot and was 'supposed' to be from a reliable long term NT fence company! (Gee they won the contract for the Lyons estate - so one would think they were ok!) WRONG! As the contract read you pay a % up front - which turned out to be about $6k for m&d, and the rest in installments...

Well the $6k was paid upfront - 8 months later!! And only after a threat from mum did the guy actually START the damn job! The job took 4 months to kind of complete! And then when he installs the electric fence it’s broken, the key tags don’t work, and the list goes on! Quotes an absolute excessive amount of $$ to blatantly rip m&d off to get the fence panels painted - when my brother is a painter and knows the true costs of doing this was less than 1/4 of the price!

Mum has refused to pay the remaining amount owing to him until he fixes the problems and then she has decided she will wait 8 months to pay him or pay him $20 a fortnight!

That Darwin for you. My shed was quoted back in April last year but due to the time it took to get approval to build they had to requote. You guessed it everything went up by shit loads. the slab was originally $24000.00 ish and then thay come back with the new cost of $34550.00. so now they are not doing the slab as I have hunted around and can have it done for aroung $20000.00, and no that is not the cheapest price either.
RBNT
Thats a shitter Fanky, hope it works out.

Weve been diddled by 3 customers this finacial year. 2 of them are minesites. Sorts of helps with the tax problem though.

We have been quoted 10k for our slab just the slab and another company has quoted 5k this includes sloping and spoon draining.

Pays to shop around at the moment....people have been over quote'n for ages because the economy was so good now they are looking for work so they are actually fightin again for the work and giving reasonable quotes.
SIKUNIT
We recently laid a slab at home for the carport, 5m x 5m x 100mm which worked out to be around 4 cubic metres of concrete which cost us $780.

Probably 4 hours with 2 people and it was screened & trowled.

I swear concreters are employed by REPCO.

Elected board to work with administrators,
They may have 2 interested parties in buying them out,
A vote will tried to be held within the fortnight as to what is happening between board members upon the administrators advice.

Answer your question................looks like a waiting game to see if I loose my $10K all together or get a shed in 6 mths time angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif

I wonder if the prices will stay the same if they're bought out.

Got a few quotes from rival company's, and the difference is ridiculous.

Hope it all works out.

This was a shed on a Nth QLD property I looked at last week, supplied, erected, slabbed and electricity in for $36000.... to me thats pretty good... is it?

Is that Darwin slab and erection prices??

Or just what they charge in QLD??

If it's the first, then it seems to be a bargain.

Well its official- I'm fugged...... west coast sheds have taken over SHEDCO, but not the debts hence people who have paid 100-50% have lost everything however they are offering a $1500 discount on a new shed........BFD!

So you won't be seeing the Willys or the Nag getting round too much as now I'll be pinching pennies all over again

As the consumer there is no protection Fugged up ozzie laws

NT1200- who did your slab??? I'm doing a 6 X 6 slab in coming weeks no big deal but my next bit has to be spot on 10-12mtrs for bedrooms and ensuite etc

Vegas
You guys are Noob as fuck when it comes to construction.
When building a slap/fence/shead DO NOT Employ a company.
Go to a labour hire company and hire people who know how to do the work and pay them a houre wage.
This will save you massive amounts of money.
But as i have my own company i love people like all of you.
Vegas
And sheads they cost sweet FA to make and sweet FA to build and they charge a fortune
VWRX
That's fucked Franky. Sorry to hear...
As for comments like Vegas has made - that's fucked too.
