hey i used to have the 2.7 turbo diesel auto terrano and i never had a problem i had it throught landcruiser park, on rainbow beach and out in the glasshouse mountains trails. the only mod a had was a podfilter in the factory airbox ,a snorkle and 31 inch tyres

got a v6 88 model check me topics to see it but had 31 mudders on it and 2 inch lift was a great think on the beach (muddies not the best idea but still managed) and they are a very roomy car in the back seats especially

my ifs 4runner has no trouble getting along the beach
jeffers1987

IFS- Idependent Front Suspension

yeah 4runner have the tougher diesel unless you get the 3 litre turbo diesel surf, i think the little 2.4's had trouble with cracking heads
cvbass
They go fine on the beach, just lower your tyre pressures.
Mine went great, although lifted, boosted and intercooled with a locker.

they never had trouble... they did it just fine. laugh.gif

2.7td terrano's are good rigs. auto is a bit slow, but I've never actually seen a manual one to compare to.

it you are picking one up cheap enough go for it... but in a similar price range you can get a TD pajero, or an old 60 series land cruiser... you could even get a gq patrol... but you wouldnt.

i'd buy one if it came with a chick on the bonnet biggrin.gif

sorry cvbass i had to say it, no disrespect to the girl

ot: get the terrano they look pretty good going by the way cvbass's looked

also if you park on the beach park with your nose facing the water so gravity can help you to get moving and lower the risk of getting bogged
anythingfastorloud
yeah, anyone know what they are like to get parts for?
tuff33
seen heaps on bribie beach looked like they handled the beach well aslong u lower tyre pressure should have no problems
NX_CITED

very true but the chance of getting bogged is there when you have to move forward again....

if you are worried about parts just contact your local spare parts store and ask them whether they;d be able to get parts for it.
i have seen a heap at wreckers though so it shouldn't be too hard
cvbass
Pathfinders have the same body, suspension etc, and the motors were used in some Navaras, just always say its for either one of them when looking for parts, or they will try to charge you an arm and a leg for your 'import' parts.

yeah. im still considering the sierra / vitara option
as they are cheap to fix and run. just not sure if i want something bigger.
