I've been clean for 5 months. I still get cravings, wondering what the new expansion is like, and if it'd be more awesome than when I played it.

Currently however, I have taken a liking to zombie killing in Left4Dead. Nothing more satisfying than getting the automatic shotgun, and mowing down tonnes of them! Plus the multiplayer aspect of the game makes it really quite good.

I never understood this... What a waste of time, and with out really accomplishing anything..

Took me like 3 months to get to level 44.. playing a few hours a night.

Never played this, and not really interested either. Watched a mate play it once for about 5 minutes, and that was enough for me.

Claiming its a 'waste of time' etc is accurate in itself, but also highly hypocritical coming from people who either browse boost / sit on MSN / sit on facebook / sit on myspace / whatever else in that same time frame anyway. Its also a waste of money in the same way going out drinking at nightclubs is a waste of money - except you still have your character the next morning, and you didnt pass out at some stage, or try and pick up a minger (actually that part may not be true, since WOW has voice chat you may well try hitting on a minger).

I dont play anymore cause I got bored of it, but its no better/worse than any other game. Its just more successful than most (say, for eg, Hello Kitty Island).

My 3 closest friends play wow, one being my boyfriend. It doesnt affect them in real life except for a few nerdy sayings. Only thing that annoys me is when im trying to make plans and they are to busy playing.

i played for 3 years, at the time i was at school all my friends played so i thought why not, and TRK is right its a good game however it gets repetive really fast and in the end you sit in cap sitting scratching ur balls doing nothing pissing money away as yahtzee said if you want to waste money on wow or any mmorpg for that matter your better off throwing it off a bridge. Reason why i quit wow though for those curious is because blizzard can't gurantee account secruity and when you spend along time doing repetive shit to get gear and then to loose it well its a major kick in the balls and realise how muc money you've wasted on it.

I must confess i play it, and while its repetitive it serves its purpose nicely... to be a time sink while i talk on msn and literally have nothing better to do. Also its more cost effective than buying new games these days, 30 for the game and expansion, 35 for 2 months of play, in 3 months i haven't bothered to buy any new games. Sure it gets boring at times, bit repetitive but i still feel better knowing i paid the money and eventually ill get bored and go back to it, rather than if i buy a wii game etc, beat it in a day and it sits there collecting dust till i trade it in or sell it. Which would be the case if i could find any wii games to buy , still might be getting a 360 tomorrow so bye bye wow for a lil while, hello sf4 and forza

I don't have anything against the game. I enjoy playing it even though I only get to play once a week at best. It's cheap entertainment and a great way to kill time if you are bored. It's not everyone's idea of a good game and that's fine.

But if you're jaded because your ex used to play it hours on end and you didn't get enough attention, then perhaps there was something wrong with your relationship to begin with Any partner worth their weight in gold wouldn't feel threatened by WoW's potentially addictive properties.

Got to level 20 and my time card ran out.

I'm a poor fucker, so I never signed up again.

I used to play RL but it got too hard so I left. So hard to level up and the amount of money you waste isn't worth it.

I played WoW for a while. Got boring really quickly. SO I went back to FFXI. Been playing for 6 odd years now. Its cheaper then most hobby's. And it doesn't really affect my life.
