Crackin all,

Myself and a few mates are heading up to Munchies @ Acacia Ridge on friday if the weather is all candy. So basically putting it out there if anyone with old school rides is keen to cruise up there for a nice relaxing drive and to check out some other classics and toughies.

Idea so far is:

Meet at Coomera Bp at around
6pm and shoot the shit, grab fuel and a feed.

The CARPARK on the left as you enter the Servo

Bail by about 6:30pm heading north up the M1 taking either the Ipswich Motorway exit, following that to Beaudesert Rd towards Acacia Ridge

Must haves are:

Couple of bucks for tolls ( $1.20 @ Loganlea )
Friendly Attitude
No Stupid Behaviour

So if anyone's keen, just reply in here i guess.

So do you need to drive an old school classic car to come along and check this out???

our commo club is there week in week out

nah, anything really. Just trying to get some more old school rides out

might come up in the BMW and check it out, havnt been for few weeks

just keen to take the HR for a spin and a mate is cruisin up in his LTD as well

Straight up compton road is an option, I know how to get there

what you save in toll fee's you would probably use in fuel if you go compton rd way.

i heard import cars are not too welcome at the munchins crowd.

To me, old school is anything older than 1978 but that's just me

we'll be there (chev, hq & efee). as long as weather is ok.

Public Property, anyone is welcome. However the Greater majority will be Pre 1985 Cars.

where is munchies exactly

corner of elizabeth st and beaudesert rd acacia ridge. For those that haven't been before there is ALOT of foot traffic so drive very bloody slowly in, through and when exiting.

It's a mint relaxed atmosphere

are well behaved imports allowed

just make sure that if you have a modern/ stock/ jap car please don't park it out the front with the rest of the classics

ill hav to borrow a friends commodor then to fit in

i was under the asumption that it was an old school meet where imports got boo'd on

Wouldn't say boo'd, but definately not drooled over or even noticed, i personally go there because it is old school, classics, mild customs and muscle cars.

It.s nice to go check out rides that look tough standing still and the lack of flutterz is another bonus




I think it kicks off as early as 4-4.30 and finishes once everyone is gone.

I reckon it.s a cruisey atmosphere as well compared to most of the usual spots. No drunk 14-15 year olds trying to be hard asses

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:45 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Sandgate, Brighton and Jacobs Well. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Cleveland, Redcliffe and Bribie Island by 4:15 pm and Comboyuro Point, waters off Bribie Island and northern Bribie Island by 4:45 pm.


Damaging winds, very heavy rainfall and flash flooding are likely. Large hail is NOT a threat for southeast Queensland.


44mm of rainfall recorded in 30 minutes at Bundamba Alert(southwest of Brisbane) at 2:50pm.


Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.


The next warning is due to be issued by 4:45 pm.


A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields and Wide Bay and Burnett districts.


Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Emergency Management Queensland would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

too easy to fix unis just need a vice ball pain hammer and sir clip pliers do it in half hour

i second that nothing worse than having the walk past 20 commonwhores,falcons or ricers to see some nice older rides these are the ones that wrecked harrys dinner and they will do the same here as i dont see many older cars doin skids as they leave

Was a large crowd, but as stated above....way to many post 90 cars at the front. A lot of the ol regulars don't seem to be coming now days.
Still a few good ones though... Orange Camaro near Munchies...

Yep, i'll agree about that 68. Detailing was damn good.

The yellow 4 door LJ had one of the nicest notes i've heard out of a tough 6 for along time. Making me wanna build a big cammed 186 for the HR.

Spotted a few members cars up there too, always loved joey's HK pano.
