I do not have a 2 stroke at the present, however I have used Motul oils in all of my MX bikes.
Great oil.

Castrol TTS in my Cagiva Mito.. nothing but the best.
I think the ratio for my automatic mixer is 1:40 or something, but TTS can go higher and can be used at 1:60 or 1:52 or something. Google is ur friend. From what ive heard, if ur bike can take TTS, theres nothing better out there.

25:1 will likely be too rich. i used to run motorex at 34:1. bikes never blew smoke when being ridden and never ceased either

I run motul 800T at 25:1 in a 00' Cr125, never had any issues but it is ridden quite hard, and meticulously maintained.

A 2 stroke should blow smoke, a nice white smoke. Hence the term smoker.

Wow, you sure run a lot of oil in your bike. I run 32:1 - 40:1 (petrol to oil) on my Husky WR250, and this is with Motul 510. If i had 800, i'd run a max of 40:1, maybe a bit less. There are some guys out there who run 50:1 when using Motorex Corsspower 2t (or something like that).
4221, were you using plain Mobil 2t oil, or the Mobil1 racing 2t oil?

people often get the terms wrong.....40-1 = 25 mls of oil to a L of petrol. it means theres 40L of fuel to 1L of 2 stroke.
some ppl thing 40-1 means 40 mls of oil to 1 L of petrol

40:1 with the Motul 800. Use BP ultimate as well. Nothing else if possible.

motul is by far the best and i just love the smell, cud drink it out of the bottle hahaha.
head down to your local bike shop and they should have some free stickers/ cards that have all your fuel ratios on them. what you mix your fuel at really depends on how you ride.

Also keep this in mind - pending on the grade of oil, it starts to break down pretty quick once mixed with the petrol. Some oils are required to be used in so many "hours" before the lubrication properties start to deteriorate. Worth keeping in mind if your riding once per month or so and leave your fuel in your tank / jerry can. This is one reason i've gone to shell.

Same as many others on here, Motul 800 at 40:1... CR250. I never go richer than 32:1, its just unneccessary. Have used Castrol TTS before as a cheaper option and had no problems with it. You can safely run most small bore 2 strokes at up to 50:1 apparently, obviously for safety and engine longevity its better to go slightly richer, 40:1 is where its at.

40-1 once u break it down means 25mls of oil to a litre of fuel.

TTS.. you wont ride the bike to within breaking limits, so the 5-10 bucks you save a litre will be worth it over the Motul. TTS is good oil too. I used it in all my 2 smokers - WR200, 2 x CR250's and never missed a beat. And I would like to think I use to flog the shit outta my 2 smokers...
I'd like to think that atleast

between 25 to 33 to 1 if u want reliabilbity... ive blown a bottom end and siezed two tops ends at 40 to 1 in my ktm 200 ridin hard
yz_freestylin
Mar 12 2009, 10:17 PM
wow.....i used to ring my yz 125 at 40-1 and never seized it
if u rebuild your top end once you realise your losing compression or feel youve ridden it for a bit and spend that extra few hunddred you should be sweet.
riding a bike till it seizes isnt right!...thats when you fuck up your sleave!
p.s. ktms are built to go hard so there 2 strokes need rebuilding in half the time than any jap bike.
my mate rebuilds his 125sx's top end every 25 hours.

i used to race a 2 stroke, 04 rm125, i thrassed that thing and prob rode it 3-5 days a week, the best mix i had was 33-1 with the motel 300,

mate depends how hard ur ridding it
if ur goin too too racing or holding it flat then 33:1 is great if ur goin too be bush ridin or watever 50:1 is fine
also too save money from $38/L 4 motul run TTS $22/L just as good if not better
