Hey im lookin at gettin an slr camera in the 1000-1300 price range, and im not sure whats good and whats not.

went down to harvey norman this morning cause they got a sale on, had a quick look, but id like some input from people who actually know what their talkin about.

i had a quick look at a couple of threads and everyones all about nikon/canon, is sony any good? cause they dude down there was tryin to sell me a Sony A350 twin lens kit that was about $1270.

i tend to take a fair few people shots btw

the 1000D Canon is a good entry level DSLR, or spend a little more on the 450D.

not too clued up on the nikon's, but they are pretty much on par.

yeah i went and browsed a fair few reviews on various cameras, fuck the sony

i want a 450D, but im not sure on if i can afford it

D60 is great minus no AF motor, but really, Its not that big a deal. I use a D60, great camera, takes fantastic photos with the kit lenses aswell.

Got the 450D, just such a lil awesome machine.

na im actually seriously considering the 450D, its not that much more.

Get the 450D with the 18-55 IS kit lens. If you get it with the twin lens kit, I'll buy the 55-250 off you, so youll get the set for cheaper. PM me if youre keen.

d60 seems like its a nice little camera, my mate just bought one yesterday he seems really happy with it, either way you go you should be all good

i bought a 450D about a month ago and it takes great people photos. I have taken heaps at parties and stuff and i love it.
