Yeah. I bought it already with the Chev 6.5L V8. You can see the intake manifold has been cut and turned around 180 re-welded back on. FMIC has made a difference, even better performance. It's an absolute torque monster, so much fun to drive.
Just need a lift kit and some 35's and I will be set.

THats fkn awsome, how does it go on fuel?
B Unit
Jan 31 2009, 04:51 PM
I'm the reason there are diesel shortages lol.
It's not too bad for what it is, I get 13L per 100km around town. Engine redlines at 3400rpm but it's all torque from idle all the way through. Could really do with a 6th gear on the highways. Plus looking at converting back to 2wd to see if it's cheaper to drive. Used to use it for work, but now have a van so it's just a toy now.
driveshaft22
Jan 31 2009, 06:54 PM
Thats not too bad, now, few months ago when diesel was 1.75 it would have hurt. Could be worse, Ive had old v8s that used 18.5L/100k at highway cruising. Thats half the reason Im doin this build, to get stacks of power, cheaper fuel(unleaded), and better efficiency.

I flipped the front arms to ontop of the diff, built a custom x link, high steer, moved both panhards up, it has std rear arms but i have relocated them higher on the diff so that everything works a bit better and custom shock mounts all round, so i have the same shocks at each corner.....
the springs, shocks, panhards and high steer is around 3K worth, all the custom stuff cost me nothing as i did it myslef outta shit i managed to "scrounge" lol...
but knowing wat i know now u would only need springs and shocks, as once u move the panhards it goes back to factory lengths... so u could save a few hundred there.
the rest was just a bit of elbow grease really

Hey all, recently got rid of my lil 2003 Holden Astra. I now have a Landcruiser Prado "Getaway" model running on the 3.4L V6 engine with dual petrol tanks. Still fairly stock, only thing it has at the moment is all terrain tyres. Mods to come are a UHF radio, bull bar and spotties and the basic accessories such as recovery gear. Pics to come soon.

I got some good news today about my build project.
I thought puttin a TH700 tranny in the cruiser runnin 4.11:1 diff gears would make it rev like a rotory down the hyway, but according to the diff experts, the final ratio with 33"s is gonna be the same as a stock commodore. 1860rpm @ 100km/hr. Stoked. as I do plenty of long trips.
