A few weeks ago I got a Nikon D60 with a twin VR lens kit
I take alot of photos of drifting and at the drags. the day time photos are good, it's just that at night time no matter what setting I try all of the pictures turn out blurry.
just want to see if any one knows why this is happening

I'm only new to this so I don't know to much

thanks

i think its cause of all the movements combined with the lights, tripod FTW

at night, the shutter stays open for longer compared to day due to the lack of light, therefore this increase in time means that any slight movement when it's open will blur the photo. As previously mentioned a tripod is a must for night photography.

Its not really a must, get a flash if you want, I used no flash tonight on my D60 and managed to still take a DECENT picture @ 1/10 shutter

That was panning!

For stills a tripod is a must.

For night action shots, eg drags - High ISO to keep the shutter fast, flash is a must but you'd have to be down with something like Kyle Sharp's twin-strobe set up to get decent pics.

Static night shots aren't a must if you want high shutter speeds.. IF you use flash and it is dark you can hold your shutter open as long as you like.. Flash duration is so short that it will freeze whatever it is you are shooting anyway
