Looks like what I'm going to post will piss of some people on here, but Webber is the most over rated driver in F1. Yeah I'm an Aussie but when you don't perform even when the car is running well it's time to get out and let some younger or more talented drivers in.

When he was told he was being replaced at Williams he should have just waited a couple of weeks instead of signing that same week with Redbull and he would have been with Farrari instead.

I do agree with you that having a car that doesn't perform has not helped him.

I have to say that he is a very talented driver and even outperformed Damon Hill on Topgear UK in the wet when Damon Hill drove in the dry in the same car.

I wish him all the best for the season but don't believe they have the package to do it and will be his downfall.

Webbers manager is flavio biatore (renult team boss), when he gave him the opportunity to goto renult he should have taken it. Instead alonso took it, and cleaned up.

And now at redbull with quite a good car, i have to agree with "heavy", he should be doing alot better then he actually is.

ferrari have managed to make their car look sexy despite the ugly rules!

i'm a big bmw and kubica fan, but this year the rules are going to turn the order upside down! i dont think KERS will play a big part until its able to be used reliably, so its probably going to be pretty much A1GP for the first part of the season

politics got alonso the renault seat? ?! lol so his 2x world championships had nothing to do with it? as much as i like webber youv gotta be realistic. he's harsh on the car which tends to increase the chances of bad luck imho

All you webber bashers out there you all have nfi imho. He constantly puts his car in the top ten, usually around 7th. When he finishes a race it's usually around 7th. That's pretty fucking good considering who's in front of him. And when he doesn't finish it's a mechanical failure or caused by some young hotshot with zero patience. He rarely fucks up. I dunno why people bitch about him. He's bloody funny when he gives interviews, straight to the point, no bullshit. And he's one of the worlds best drivers. He should stay there until he's 50 if he can. Fuck em!

Reason why webber won't ever get a drive in a good team....he's an aussie and our market is only good for 20 million or so people. Why do you think schumacher was stolen from jordan halfway through the '93 season. The german market is one of the biggest in the world for F1 related products. Thats why South American drivers always get a good go. Not to mention Spanish and as you can see recently, the british.

And while we're talking all things '09, what do all of you think about the gold, silver, bronze idea for race winners. I've heard hamilton doesn't like it because he can't win races. With this system massa would've been '08 champion...because, as everyone knows, massa is the better driver!

Webber's career will always be hampered by where he comes from. Thats the reality.

The facts are:

He qualifys well given the car packages he has.

He consistently outperforms team mates with the same car.

He has had horrible luck with mechanical failures or people running into him

He has a great work ethic.
That said I still get dissapointed every freakin time he drives cause im an aussie and want to see an aussie at the top of a sport i love.

So after Ferrari, Toyota, McLaren, Williams and Renault have uncovered their 2009 challengers, with Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Force India not expected to unveil their new cars until next month, and with Honda's F1 future still in limbo, the BMW Sauber team have become the latest to join the party.

Called, simply enough, the F1.09, this will be the car in which Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld, with the support of perennial test driver Christian Klein, will take on the rest of the field in the coming season. Its form is dictated by the same new aero regulations as its competitors, with BMW's own battery-based Kinetic Energy Recovery System installed underneath. Several teams have stated that, given the short timeframe they had to develop the hybrid system, they may delay its implementation, and Sauber's troubled gestation process was well publicized. Notably absent, meanwhile, from the car's livery this year is longtime sponsor Credit Suisse, the banking giant that cited a change in marketing strategies as its reason for not renewing its sponsorship. Scuderia Ferrari chose to unveil its new car for the 2009 F1 season before anyone else, so while other teams were assuredly tweaking their designs up until the last minute, Ferrari's was already out on the track. And now it seems there are some problems with the F60's design.

For starters, the exhausts are being reported as illegal. While the other cars revealed so far have inboard exhaust pipes, the Ferrari's protrude from the bodywork in contravention of new aerodynamic regulations. On top of that, Ferrari seems to be having trouble with its new jumbo front wing, which could explain why, with Fiorano snowed in, the team opted to run test laps at its own Mugello track instead of Algarve in Portugal where the rest of the teams are testing, presumably to be closer to the factory. An organization as large and streamlined as Ferrari should have no trouble fixing these problems before the start of the season, which hasn't even kicked off yet. Looks like this is going to be another one of those seasons.

I'm more looking forward to the start of MotoGP. F1 hasn't really done anything for me over the last few years, since Michael retired. I do look forward to watching some good racing this year though.
