wired up and someone to compliance it, but we're unsure if this is bullsh*t or not cause its always

Mate - anything is possible if you thro enuff coin at it.
When I was living in Brisbane I registered a Cheetah 200cc road trail bike, it was not ADR compliant at the time and I Can tell you it was a friggin nightmare. It's not so much hard work or big coin, it's just a lot of crap / paperwork / running the bike to different places etc etc - You have to get an engineer to look over the bike, make up a new compliance plate etc etc - this takes about 4-5 hours and you can guess their hourly rate....then you have to have it inspected by transport officer AND a safety certificate issued - nope, the tranpsort dept nor the engineer can issue this, it's a shamozzle - I would never do it again...UNLESS of course you buy ADR compliant (which I think the bike you mention are) - then it's a peice of piss and just like a new registration - get everything working, get your safety certificate and pay the fees and your away...
Cheers

I am pretty sure for compliance you will need to fit an exhaust that has an "AS" Number on it, the Australian Standards number indicates it is below the 92 decibel at 5000RPM volume level and has met certain emissions restrictions for a road registered vehicle, fit the rest such as lights indicators etc and i think you will be fine, of course after rego you'g go and put the dirt equip on it! lol...

Oh and for compliance you'll need one of those original licence plate brackets with the big dicky long mudflaps, cos the rear wheel must not be the first thing to come in contact with a wall if you back it up. but once again, something to remove as soon as you have compliance!.

Might be cheaper to spend the dough on a WR in the long run though.

But good luck with it.

You could buy a CRF450X.
