ok in need of some help
im thinking about purchasing a xbox 360
wats the differance between the arcade version and then the more expensive version which has a hard drive.
also can you buy hard drives for the arcade version/ will it play like the normal version ?

well i can get the follwing
xbox 360 arcade ( doesnt have the hard drive) 1 wireless controller and the following games pgr2 , call of duty 2, and ghost recon
good deal ? for $150

No wireless on the controller, no hard drive, no xbox live headset, no ethernet cable and no media remote.

They all come with the wireless controllers now, and none come with the media remote...They havent for a while i dont think.
http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/hardware/console101.htm pew pew, if you're buying the arcade one new with those games, then get it and just go get a "starter pack" for $150 or so, will give you the 60gb HD, headset, and 3 months of xbox live.
as bozza said, the arcade + the 60gb Live starter pack would be your best bet.

ive got both, and my PS3 gets maybe 10 mins playtime a week - and thats only to check the online store. the 360 is on longer than that every day.

Oh my godz it haz the Blu rayz it's the bombz. PS3 is an over priced Blu Ray player that is all.
i thought there would be a bigger difference in grapics.. but there isnt.
main reason i wanted a 360 was for forza2!
having come from a play station 2 there aint that much difference.
games are a tad cheaper and many more 2nd hand games at EB. havent played a ps3 but all in all, 360 is already quite out dated they have got the best out of it as far as game design, still trying to find the limits of the ps3.
but mostly game play is what i love, that and coolness of a game can be a winner.
i got the xbox pro was about $400 in mid November with extended warrenty.

if youre playing in SD there wont be the huge difference in graphics from the previous gen (still more than enough to notice though), but in HD on a big TV the PS2/xbox look like megadrive graphics compared to the 360.
the PS3 and 360 are so close to each other in theoretical 'limits' that its not even worth mentioning. the 360 just makes those limits easier to get to.
