So im taking some random shots tonight in my shed, 30sec exposure.

IPB Image

Full crop, and seriously, 100ISO, Should there be THAT much noise? Or is their something wrong?

I thought it seem like a ton, want a second opinion!

With long exposures you're going to get noise from the air/static due to the shutter being open so long. In camera software should remove most of it thou, so a 30 second exposure takes one minute.

Looks fine to me for 100ISO 30sec.

yeah i was gona say that i cant really pick up that noise?

and yeah because your shutter is open for so long, you just get these interfearences from un-controllable things, wind, air etc,etc

I can't see it on my desktop monitor, but when I'm on the laptop it sticks out like dogs balls.

If it's right, whatever, maybe my laptop monitor has totally wrong settings?

Could be possible?

I feel there is a little to much focus on 'noise' in images these days.

Probably because most on here were not shooting 10 years ago on 35mm film.

35mm film had 'Grain'..... and depending on what you used...... a fair amount sometimes.

One day noise will be a thing of the past I'm sure..... but right now..... the noise we have to deal with is nothing campared to an average 35mm film from years back.

It actually can look good. We put it into some shots on purpose.

But is it just me, or does it draw your eyes away from the actual picture?

Laptop monitors are really not the best thing to judge a picture on to begin with. And no, I cant see any noise.
