opinions on this camera from people in the know would be appreciated and do you reckon its a good bang for buck buy at this price or is there better quality out there for the same price

i looked at getting a1000d but have decided on the 450d
i've got a bit more cash to spend and there is currently a great deal on in england where i can get the 450d with the 18-55mm IS lens for AU$789 :-O
if you've got the money go the 450d even if its only with one lens cos its not nessiscarily the one that is best for your intended use
