It'll never happen unless there are strict noise restrictions similar to those currently in place for the sprints and aasa meets. tyre noise would be the biggest issue to try overcome, I just can not see it happening unfortunately.

they have barely got the track back for normal circuit racing, it will be either never... or a verrrrrry long time before you see drifting at lakeside

yeah no drifting there. But seriously take your car out for a sprint day. I did it in my r32 and it was the best track, challenging and exiting. I cant wait to go back in my new track car.

dude its awesome to drift on, we had a couple of days on there back in 2004
[and that was when skill levels were a bit lower] and had no crashes at all.
won't happen again though because of the noise issues,
we even had the useless whinging neighbors climbing through the fence complaining about the noise in 2004.

is it the same 10 people that complain about noise?

I'm not sure as this was a while ago,
A few days were run on the Driver Training Area at Lakeside too,
and thats also very good for drift.

ah
when we went to lakeside late last year the council basically told us that 20 locals were for the track being open, 53495345* didn't give a shit and like 10 people were constantly trying to get it shut down.
*may have exaggerated

lake side is on the national trust registry they cant close it down or demolish it. the people that complain are in the goverment and they were the ones to get it shut down. maybe if someone held driver defensive training there and then we just drift lol but theres hope still yet as it will just be a waste of space we need to get a petition together and tell these wankers to piss off and get over it and go for a drive in their electric toyota prius things....

They never had burnout comps there, and there never will be.
If you think they'll bring drifting to Lakeside - you must have big dream clouds. Would be good if they bought back the 2L Touring championship. That made good racing. But alas, will never happen.

too many damn sooks that live around there, we are racing/drifting etc during daylight hours, i dont see why they complain so much. they choose to live near a racetrack, its not like anyone is asking for night events, they should get over it and get a life or move.

they definatly had burnouts at lakeside
at LEAST 10 years ago
when Operation Drag was about.. had an VS commo police car drag car and an EL falcon cop car and some form of rail type dragster
and a bunch of random street cars etc using the main straight as a drag strip
then afterward they had a burnout comp also on the main straight

plenty of burn out comps and 1/8 mile drags back in the day of the Lawnton Powernats..was always a great weekend... show n shine and grass driving events at lawnton showground on saturday followed by go to whoa and burn out comp on sunday at lakeside....those where the days. got plenty of pics from those days around some where.....and in regards to those who complain about the noise...."Get real! You knew a race track was there when you bought the place, deal with it. It only happens once in a blue moon and its on a weekend through the day. Not like its to all hours of the night when you are trying to get your delicate rest!! Fools!"

I recommend random skids with oil out the fornt of these so called petitionists late at night with lights off. Also weld a tyre buster rail of 6 inch nails and leave it in front of their driveways too. They'll shit themselves and move.
No whingers = Lakeside returned to its former glory...
I'm super fucking serial
Edit; Oh and throw rocks at their houses fromtime to time too. People don't like rocks.
