AS title says I'm looking at spending up to $1000 on a DSLR.
What is the best for a beginner and I guess easy to use?

Just got my hands on the D60, and sheeeeeeet, I'd suggest it to anyone, it's such a fantastic camera for the price, abit small but nothing a battery grip won't fix. Scraps by at just a touch over a grand for a twin lense kit but well worth the coin.
