will 20x8 front and 20x9 or 20x10 rear fit on a vy commodore without to much suspension work being done?

you would be much better off asking in the main section not the tassie section

10s at the rear wont fit without a bit of guard massaging and the perfect offset
9s will fit no dramas as long as you get the right offset.

youll need to run 225 width tyres on the front to clear the struts too.

And that too ^^^
But I think Crewman front struts will give you room to run wider, not 100% on that one though.

yeah i have heard that too, but i think it increases your rideheight due to higher spring seat, but im not certain, Do you know matt? have been meaning to find out

I am unsure, although as I will be performing a very similar modification in the very near future to a vehicle of this model I will endevour to find out.

They are quite good, although SS is better, speaking of which, apparently there are ex NSW police VE SS to be had for around the $23000 mark at auction, All though their history may be dubious.

We're thinking of getting rid of the VY and get a new VE SS wagon, its just coming to an agreement with auto or manual

Its not a bargain, its what they're worth! Just because wankers in Tassie think they're worth 17 with a rooted gearbox doesnt mean 14 is a bargain.
All they are pretty much is an exec with a V8 in them...some have a couple more features.

They are a straight bolt in fit but as i have found out today the sprimg seat is 10mm higher than normal commo, so you would be effectively raisng your rideheight by 10mm, nothing the next lower spring wont fix

I know this is an old thread guys, but jsut wanted to put something up.. I've got 20x9's all round on my VY, which is lowered 2" in the front and 3" in the back, from FE2 suspension. Tires are 245/30R20 all round. I haven't done ANY modifications to fit them, not even rolling of the guards (although it will be happening rather soon cause its RIDICULOUSLY close)... Just thought this might hopefully help???
WhiteVUSS
Feb 26 2009, 09:01 PM
Fe2 suspesion doesnt lower you car that much does it?
and yeah 30 profile tyres will clear, they wouldnt be cheap in that size though
BUZURK VX SS
Feb 27 2009, 11:56 AM
fe2 suspension is what the ss and hsv come with. its not really lowered such...according to holden its handling suspension. it a litle lower than standard but not much
TAZMX6
Feb 27 2009, 12:17 PM
Pretty sure the FE2 doesn't really sit any lower than standard, just helps the car sit on the road more comfortable.
Ex pursuits come with FE2 as well.
