Hi everyone,
Today i finally got a chance to practice using my 1st SLR camera, i know the shots are not the best, but there are a few that came out OK.
Overall the day was good, and some good driving on display.
C&C from photographers is more than welcome.

I agree with you on that. I think the pic of the silver commodore came out with the best picture quality. I had my shutter speed to low and my aperture speed to high which was causing the image to look out of focus.

The rex trying to drift.
not to bad, maybe next time try shooting in shutter priority and see how you go, start around 250/sec and as you get your panning down you can lower your shutter speed

The pic i have of the WRX and VY Calais does no justice for the car, they went really good all day. They got alot more sideways than what i have pictures of.

Not sure who won mate, we left before it finished. I would say probably the green s13, he was the best on the day IMHO.

hey dude
when your shooting anything moving like this you wanna use ur lense at as a wide angle and get as close as possible to the action.....this will make a better shot...
also a note on composing your shot......for eg with these shots the cars are moving to the left of view....so you want to have the car as close as u can to the right side of the picture, this helps give the viewer the feeling of speed and that the car is not traped or restricted. the human eye is wierd, and ifd someone sees a car in a picture and it looks like its driving ito a wall(the edge of the photo) they wont be able to appriecate the shot
hope it helps mate...photography is great fun, just takes practice and trying different things.
