Newer bikes have cat converters so they keep the noise down a fair bit...

Like the pipe, did you cut it yourself? Kinda looks like a home-job for some reason.

Sexy looking 600 though.

Nice bike. Ain't that ain't no stock pipe... does look a bit home-made to me also. Love the moto-gp style pipes on modern bikes, makes the back end look so tidy I reckon. And yeah they have a cat converter under the guts, if you tried fitting this style pipe on a bike that didn't come with it standard then its really really loud.

Still looks much better then the Shorty style pipes you see getting round, I really dis-like them. I want to do a custom side pipe for my 05 600RR and get rid of the under-seat.

This sounds very interesting... where abouts do you mean to mount it? Like a low mount "GP style" one ala R6.. or something entirely different? What bothers you about the undertail?
I think my thing is i hate having the pillion pegs on, makes things look cluttered and not as sleek... and most pipes until recent years require one pillion peg/bracket to hold the pipe, shits me. Not to mention having a gargantuan pipe up the side takes the focus off the design of the tail, which can change the bike's look entirely. Is that the style of shorty you're talking about that you dislike, the one still attached via bracket?
VU_SS_UTE
You can get neat exhaust hangers for any recent bike no dramas...

Yeah, they are the ones...A side pipe like the one above would look pretty hot & with a set of intergrated rear lights like VU_SS_UTE has on his 600RR you would be able to clear the rear end up a whole lot. I'm kinda semi looking into the side mount, not 100% committed.
gottcha
yeah its a home made tip i made it back in year 12 for my kx 250 but never got round to putting it on so i just sliped it on the r6 it kinda sounds like a rotary at idel and it bloody loude when u open her up, ill most likely turn it into a track when the new r1 comes out i cant wate lo
reddahaydn
very nice, love the tail and the look of the pipe, wheres ya number plate tho?

guess he brought the radiator at the wrong place, very easy to pick up parts cheap if you know where to look
