hey, just looking for advice as to what i should do about not being able to ride my bike for 6 months due to work licence issues. i have a brand new '08 gsxr600, about 2200 klms on it, it's had it's first 1000klm service.

what options do i have? take the battery out and cover it up and forget about it for six months? risk riding it at least once a week to keep it running? any other options as to what i can do? i definately dont want to sell it cos it is way too much fun to ride but i dont want it to get in a bad way either by leaving it sitting for the next 6 months. any offers to ride it for me once a week, lol?

any feedback appreciated,
cheers

Man, how i wish i lived in brissy right now!! ;lol;

But if i were you, i would probably just take it for a spin myself every week, riding *very* sensibly, so as not to get pulled over etc.. Rather risk getting caught than risking a random crashing it.

But i think best option would be to unhook the batt, and "jump start" it after the 6 month period. But i dunno whether there would be other issues involved in keeping it inactive for that long (fuel turning?) dunno.gif

I definitely wouldn't sell it. 08 gixxer 600 ftw! ;D

If you want to store it, remove the battery as you've already said. Make sure you have decent coolant, with anti corrosive additives. Also, you'll need a set of stands. If you leave it on the tyres for 6 months they'll be stuffed, especially with a softer compound. Finally dump the fuel, as it'll go bad over that time.

Dunno what you should do, but if you wanna store it you'll need to do that stuff.

You could always start it a couple of times a week, to keep everything fresh..just keep it on stands front and rear so the tyres are off the ground. Also let the air down.
