My house mate and i have been trying to sell a VL that we went halves in. He owes me a bit of cash so its all mine now. I was going to sell it and spend money on my F6 - but figure its going to be too much fun to pass up and i might look at drifting it.

Needs a cam bearing done which isnt a big job, and im going to knock that over on the weekend. What i want to know is what will i need for drifting? What makes it easier? Etc etc. Currently its got...

RB26 with bigger turbos
Full 3" exhaust
Huge fmic
GTR 5 speed
VN LSD 2 piece rear end
Huge radiator
Catch can, twin bov's
VS dash housing custom guages

Its just on superlow springs, what springs/suspension should i put in? And should i fuck the LSD off and get a lock diff instead (spool not weld)

I think a VL drifter would be a lil different and interesting, and i really wanna learn so i need to set it up and get out there!

Mate you're going to have to put a bit into the suspension, usual setup includes:

- Front and rear strut braces
- Front and rear anti sway bars (aftermarket adj)
- Coilovers, probably best to go Tein because they have a full range in Australia now for Aussie cars, just talk to Fulcrum Suspensions about which ones you need. They're also ADR approved.
- All the necessary gear to adjust your toe and camber. (castor rods, tie rods adj)

- If you wanna get serious, a roll cage would be a good idea too.

Oh and get yourself an oil catch can, you're gonna need it to stop the nasty oil from getting into your beautiful big turbos.

Might need to ring qld police and see if its an ex cop car. If it is it will have been thrashed and wont be any good!!!!



On topic. Just work the suspension. Coilovers, LSD, Camber and caster...

stiff the car up with a weling role cage strut brace frount/rear sway bars get rid of the tt setup and put a hybrid chinese turbo or a big sigle keep the lsd strip weight good brakes for decent weight transfer everyone forgets the brakes and D button

Always has to be a pest in every forum. You can convert GTR 5 speeds to RWD, my mate uses them in his rx7 s2 race cars.

Suspension, Suspension, Suspension.

Would be wise to go to an actual workshop that deals mainly with drift, setting up drift cars, Alignments ect. Let them know that your serious and not some dreamer, and together you can sit down and work out a plan. Then go from there.
