ok i am in a jam. i am building a htpc, i scored a compaq evo d510 slim for cheap as a barebone system (no ram, hard or opticle).

as it just so happened i had all of that stuff laying around. i put it all to gether and it turns on then off and 5 seconds later, it turns on again and beeps 3 times.

i does not display or nothing. does intel clock ram back in speed like amd, as i have have put ddr400 ram in it and its rated for ddr333 i think.

now i have never delt with intel stuff nor have i delt with compaq. any help would be good.

It should just clock the ram back for you, 3 beeps you should be able to look up the motherboard manufacturer and find out what It's telling you.

If it isn't letting you into bios and it's just post looping, find some old 266 ram and try that first.
