might cost you around 500 for parts, gearbox, crossmember? clutch , pedals, master n slave cylinders, maybe ecu?..generally it will be cheaper to sell the car and buy a manual... have a search for more info,

edit: try search more in the future cause most likley some fellow boost loosers will flame you for asking such simple questions.

^^ +1

And it will depend how much of it you can do for yourself. My guess would be... if you don't know how much this sort of thing would cost, then you probably don't have the expertise to try a DIY job so labour is going to cost you.

That's not a piss-take but I wouldn't want you spending your hard-earned on something you could have done cheaper if you started out with a manual.

It will also depend on what you want to do to the shifter / clutch / gear box / etc once you have it and how much you're going to spend on the bits you put in. If you're going to spend up big on expensive parts then it might make very little difference: you could pick an auto or manual and either way you'll spend $$.

But going from stock auto to nearly-stock manual might cost more than it's worth.

your looking around the $1500 mark suplied and fitted with a second hand clutch.
kurly_ni5m0
I second that, around $1500 supplied and fitted.

If you can supply all the parts yourself its around $700 - $800 for fitting.

I just had my conversion done, cost me around $2,300 as I got a custom 1pc tailshaft and a custom clutch setup.

I found Universal driveshafts the best place for the tailshaft and direct clutch for the clutch / flywheel.

Hope all goes well for you smile.gif

Why so expensive?

Clutch pedal - 50
New master and slave - 80
Box - 200 (CA) 400 (SR)
Tailshaft - 100
Clutch - 300
Flywheel - 50
Crossmember - 50

Its only a few hours work to do the conversion as well.

You and a few mates with a trolly jack and stands would be able to knock it over in a weekend even if you dont know which end the the tailshaft goes smile.gif

Budget 100 for beer!

S13's are the perfect example where the bandwagon (awww just buy it already done) doesnt apply, despite what the trolls say on here.

Just look around, i brought mine for 300, only fools goto the usual known "workshops and pay 600 + for a standard s13 / 14 box.

why so expensive.
if you do it under your parents house it would be cheaper but when you have a workshop to run with all the aditional overheads it is going to cost more.
besides your not far off on your quote, just add some labour costs and brake fluid cost and gear oil cost and your nearly up to $1500.
and would you suply a warenty cause we would. tongue.gif
sorry i can't spell tonight i'm too tired
