just thought i would throw up some pics of my new pig.
She has a pretty much stock bottom end in her at the moment but have a stroker kit on the way. Just have to make sure I dont break 11s as dont want to go out of bracket currently runs a 12.4 so hoping stroker will bring it down to mid 11s then a small shot of nos or avgas should get me where I need to be.
Full Tube chassis
308 30thou L34 heads, Roller Rockers, 282 Crower solid cam, Crane solid lifters, Rollmaster timing chain, Edlebrock performer inlet with 750 Mighty Demon, TPP Bug Catcher, Holley black fuel pump, 18 Litre alloy fuel tank, Turbo 350 with 5000 stallie, Procomp dizzy with MSD6, New Alloy Radiator, New Tailshaft, Tubbed with 28x10x15 Hoosiers, Plus New set 26x10x15 MT’s, Front Runners, 9” 4:11 Richmond gears with 28 spline billet axles, Roll cage, Pro shift stick.

Looks really nice.
The only thing i would be worried about is the Procomp dizzy. If you can afford it, replace it as soon as possible. I was using 1 as a replacement while my dizzy was getting rebuilt and i broke the oil pump drive split pin and rotor button broke once. I used it for about a week then parked the car up until mine came back.
I have heard so many horror stories about Procomp shit breaking. Its just not worth it IMO.

yes going to change that. It goes into the shop on wednesday for a strip down and tickle up of bottom end as it is pretty standard and needs better compression as standard pistons still in it.

Mill the heads a little will give you some more compression.

just sitting with 350 for now going to lower stally when I can find one to buy and sticking with th350 as cheap when destroyed. see what times it pulls then will work out if to go to 383.
Has sponsors now so they will be helping with build price. hopefully will be at tnt at willowbank in about 3 weeks for final tune, but you know what its like. problem after problem with conversions and tech inspections. so far motor is apparently at 435hp with mid 550squares of torque. But will see when she hits the strip. Figures are nothing, times are everything.

Torque seems a bit high compared to HP unless it made the power at very low RPM.
Any idea on the weight of the car with driver?
Sounds cool. Replace when broken. I like that

Plenty of potential in this car definately good move going the chev. I'm not sure on the stall choice what numbers are you hoping to run. I personally would like to see that converter up around 5000, ahve you gone lower due to engine output what diff gears has the 9 in got nice starting point

4.11 richmond 9 inch. Was thinking that it wont rev as high and not runnin solids so was going to drop the stall down. but have decided to stick with the 5000 that I have and then throw some solids and super victor on later.

I like! A huge blower on the manifold would top it off, or even a pair of big snails hanging off the manifold

High comp forced induction? YES PLEASE!

Because it is a straight drag car I have not had to spend the $$$ on getting a street legal conversion kit but so far have spent about 10G on her. motor itself is probably around the 5G mark but dont really want to add it up as will only be depressing. at the end of the day everyone spends thier money on somethin. May aswell be on a chev. at this stage I think I am only about $500 away from finish line but am still unsure if I should go to a powerglide. Head says yes but heart say ""just get it on the track ffs" worry bout the problems later. been at the mechanics for bout 6 months now and bout time it had some time slips and addrenalin to show where my coin is going.
Have also bitten the bullet and decided to stick with the 5000 stall converter and will just sell the 3000 stally

yes I want to get rid of the dual aswell but am interested to see what the difference it will make so am going to run the dual then run Super victor. Will keep you posted. Only new update is that we have customised the panhard rod and gone to an adjustable 1 piece as looking at old set up it was not pointing straight. Have also purchased some engine mounts to suit commodore to chev from castlemain rod shop as got them on the cheap plus steering colum spacer to suit.

Well its just hit its 1 year anniversary in the shop and have not had much further progress as racing doesnt start back up till Jan and been to busy at work to get anything else done. might have finally found some headers but they suit 18 degree heads so just trying to look into if i can get some spacers to match them up. Hit another stumbling block of starter needing to be put on the other side so looking into this fabrication as well. Is hard work but will be worth it I reckon. fkn better be. not giving up. have sold the boat now so no coin problem just fabrication problems.
