If you own an e30 , tell me about ur ride, any mods u did, and where u had them done.

Mine is an 85 323i on 18inch G2 rims, with a 2.5 inch exhaust, i will have some pics up soon !!

e21's are better

My brother also has a e21 thats ready for a 1uz swap or turbo m20. I'd still rather a e30 anyday hahah.

i saw on ebay u can get e30s for as low as a few hundred bucks, in working order
ive seen some pretty nice ones driving around with full m tech body kits, anyone know where or how much they cost?

Mtech body kits arent cheap, any e30 parts in Australia are generally quite expensive, best bet is to find one overseas and get it freighted over.

I know a bloke that has a e30 with a bbs kit on it, his name on heres revhead888 so you can ask him apart from him the only other e30 driver i know on boost is bergies_318is

I wouldnt use european auto dismantlers ive been fucked around by them with this engine i bought, lied to, took ages to deliver. tis shit when u pay a shitload and get lied to. Plus the engine isnt even running properly yet!

try KMJ AUTO PARTS - they helped me out with no f*** ass abouting.

You can also try Euro Car Parts, they tend to have a lot of new and used parts. Also Im Parts have stuff too, not to certain if they stock everything because i havent had a lot to do with them myself.

my friend has a 1989 e30 m3 with 2.5 hartge bigbore kit(2.3 -> 2.5), hartge group n coilovers, hartge group n exhaust, hartge 19" rims with sum dish and a shortened diff gearing(dont know in english sorry)...

makin like 240hp

Theres a really nice 635i they did a review on last year, lowered, repainted red and riding on 19inch multispoke wheels, looked awsome !

e34's are for fags... Haha na way man I love your 34. Actually I love 34's in general. I drive a 318i lowered, exhaust, tint, mags, cold air intake... Blah blah blah oh & I'm the dude with the bbs bodykit. E30s are legend cars mate enjoy & the 333's are über rare.

they were only released in south africa, coz they didnt get the m3
they decided to take the 3.3ltr engine out of the 633i and put it into a coupe
it was also tunned by alpina
i think it would make an awsome project, either that our dropping an s54 into an e30

E21s for the win.....

E30s are cool, mate brought one over from Ireland with him. E30 325i sport, mtech kit, lsd etc. goes real well. his brother bought an e34 with him, just finished manual conversion & 3.91s.

For parts hunt around on the US ebay some good bargains can be had, German Wrecking are overpriced and most aus euro dismantlers will take you for a ride I have found.

When I have my next aquisition (e21) should organise a old school 3 series cruise.

bstard - That isn't a genuine M3, But looks very nice, There is also a guy in the US who has made one, But its got an S54 in it . The 19's look a little to big on e30's tho, That would look so much better on some BBS RS' 16x10's

Ahahaha, Just joking, I don't mind the look of e30's slammed on some dish. When I decide to finish with my current cars and start a new project, I will build one, I'm thinking a TechII kit, Coilovers wound up over some BBS 16x9's, Alotta stretch, And an M30 + Manual conversion.

that m3 cabrio was quite nice, as was the 325is u showed me on car sales,not bad 3.6 ltr engine

would still love in the future though to put an s54 in my car.
i saw a guy in finland , i think, put an s62 in his car, an m tunned 5.7 ltr v8, in a coupe, looked like an awsome sleeper, and apparently thrashed some guy in a porche, now that would have been something to c!!

I'd watch out for those s54's from the US, US S50/52s are basically just a stroked m50/m52 that are made to pass US Emissions laws and make less power than a Euro S50. And you dont want a Euro S50 because ive sourced them for my brothers e21 and most places want around 16-18 grand just for the freakin engine :|. But yeah i think a e30 cruise would be awesum im keen to meet some more e30 boys at some point. Bergie if you wanna go for a cruise in 2 weeks im up for it on the 20th (night time). Thats my earliest free weekend. Let me know man.

Yeah i got quoted a price from this place over in WA, they reckon for the engine and installation would be around $30,000 plus, so yeah, no thanks!

But ive been told u can get an ls1 (5.7 ltr v8) for $6000, brand new with sparks plugs, oil, etc. I think that'd be a good engine for a coupe sleeper, wat do u think?

Thats exactly who I'd be talking about. That thing of his is awesome, great paint work and drives really well. I'd be first in line if it got sold.

Yeah ive heard the same about ls1 but i never wanna go a non bmw engine in one. So for me it will be some form of swap(m50/m30) or a built turbo m42.

My dad owns a e34, too big and heavy for me but if i had a family and still wanted performance i'd definently get a 5 series e34 or e60.

the guy who owns that cabrio was told that it is a m3 i dont know if it just has the fenders and kit and was a 325 before cant tell no bimma freak!
i know that the one mechanic who built it is a big name in switzerland he's called dähler and sells everything from minis to wiesmanns...

he one of the rare tuners that can register sumtin like that in CH!!!
so what he was told when he bought it for 33.000SFr was:
its a m3 cabrio as the kit and fenders say...
2.3l engine bored to 2.5 thats why 240 hp
xhaust, coils, muffler, intake
shortened diff Vmax = ~200km/h
engine had just done 6000Km!!!

so i believe it was once a 325cabrio chassis then they built the engine from a m3 with the bigbore kit and added to the cabrio...
only logical explanation for me!wiki says there wasnt a m3 cabrio so i bleive u guys are right...

other interesting fact is that he allready had a 2.3l 200hp m3 cabrio before so i dont know where that came from...belive it was from dähler 2...

I know Rory as well, his E34 is a very clean example. E34's FTW! When I get a daily next year though I'll be directing my attention towards an E30.

it may not have been a real m3 cabrio, but it definetly looked the part, and im pretty sure everyone here would luv to drive.

Reap3r, E34s arent that heavy at all. Lighter than a 300zx, once setup right they are a great drive and handle pretty good. Plus have the advantage of being a bit more classy lol.

I'm on the hunt for another e21, maybe look at a 2.7eta stroker or if Rory punts his M35 I'll chuck that in, keep it BMW

E30 M3 cabrios were made, only sold in the UK and Europe. Theres 1 in Sydney. The guy who owns it also owns 5 other E30 M3's, including an original EVO III (2.5). All converted to RHD and registered.
