mate, that sucks hard.. how long ago, and where did it happen? are you getting another bike? truck driver claiming responsibility? good to hear your not too badly injured, hopefully it doesn't turn you off bikes.

That is not good at all. Makes me think though, I do need another car for the daily grind, I have been having too many close calls lately!

fuck, we got a notorious intersection up here in darwin where a few cyclists have died due to lazy truck drivers not looking. good to know you're still alive and kicking.

so the truck driver nearly kills you and now wont take responsability for his lack of concentration. What a ass

Claiming you were speeding based on the exhuast note is about the stupidest thing i have EVER heard, my bike sounds the same @ 40kph in 1st (in fact thats probably louder) as 100kph in 6th.

Also EVEN if you were speeding he was still on a give way sign, and pulled out while you were there, he didnt look so his fault no doubt about it, a pretty clear cut case.

At least you will heal, while it sucks to have broken arms, its better than a damaged head. Get better asap and sue the prick!

Sue for negligence, on the truck drivers behalf. Its good you were not braking the law in anyway, otherwise it would have made it alot harder for you to claim damages.

You should get a copy of the police report and if its anything like here in QLD, the police should be putting a traffic breach on someone for breaking a road rule. Careless driving at the least. That should help you in your claim in court...

Sucks that you got hurt, in this case it wasnt the cyclist's fault. It's a reminder to all of us that ride bikes that car drivers aren't gunna watch out for us so it's up to us to watch out for ourselves. Bikes are fun but very dangerous, especially when people start taking risks.
