Full Version: Next Drifting Event
Does anyone know when the next drifting event is, cos i havent been to one yet and now that i got a licence i wanna go spectate cos i dont have a car that is good enuff to be taken on the track
There's one coming up that I'm going to, at Willowbank on Sunday 21st March.

The next DriftZone driftday is coming up on March 21st at QLD Raceway, Champions Way, Willowbank, QLD.
This will be our second drift day for 2004 and we have a huge calendar of events organised for this year.
Prices have been confirmed and are as follows:
Drivers - $100.00 per vehicle.
Spectators - $10.00 per person. (Children under 14 free.)
Gates open at 11:30am
Drivers are required to be at the marshalling/pit area by 12:00pm
Drifting is scheduled to start at 1:00pm

true that, i knew nothing bout drifting (some would say i still dont ) i juz rocked up to one of these events and had a great time, now im a regular

that would be powercruise wouldn't it?
Looks like I wont make it to the one on the 21st after all. Bloody boss wont give me the day off

Thats not a big drift comp.
You're referring to PowerCruise which is an entire 3 day car event.
DriftZone will hopefully have a drifting display and there will be plenty of drifting at PowerCruise but thats far from what the event is all about.
so wats involded/required for drifting? i dont know alot about it. saw bit of a vid and thought 'that looks like fun!!'. can an car drift? any sites where i can get more info/vids? might come out and have a look next sunday. cheers, ant

you could try www.driftzone.com for some more info including vidz, links, photos and a drift specific forum.Then, the next thing is to come out to QR on the 21st and have a look and meet some of us gooses who do this almost every month.

Yes indeedy Erin.
The HPI Drift Nationals are on at Calder Park Raceway in Melbourne on the 20th (Saturday).
DriftZone has a couple of drivers invited to participate in the Pro competition which should be huge.
We will still be holding our event up here at QR as not everyone can afford to get down to Melbourne for the Nats. It might make for a slightly quieter day so it'd be ideal for some "first timers" to come out and get EVEN MORE track time.
