just off narangba road there is lakeside road and that will take you to lakeside raceway

how long has lakeside been back up and running? i havnt been there in years

it has been up and running for a while but with noise restrictions, which are heavily enforced

Good to hear it running again ive always preferd it to QR.. so whats happening on September the 21st/October the 19th? can we take our cars out there?

It's a shame a few 'tards are ruining a good thing. I mean, they chose to live near a race track, why is it the race track that has to suffer? If you live under a flight path you KNOW that you're gonna get blasted by air traffic but the airport doesn't get closed. I'd expect the same of Lakeside.

its basically car racing 5 laps each time with about 10 cars so theres no hektik crashes
any car, falcons, commos new and old, datsuns, corollas, jaguars, there were a few dodgy alfas around last time,
pretty much any car aye,
and you have to sign stuff to join up, i dont race or ne thing i just go watch, a guy i know is going to start racing soon,
its a pretty good atmosphere, no dickhead people.
there is actually one on next weekend (that i just found out about) aswell as 21st of sept and 19th of oct
should be good aye, ill either be in a green ht premier or a silver skyline

Same deal as QR with the cams day licence being the only requirement? and a helmet?

lakeside may still get shut down if the government/council don't declare it as an "Iconic" part of motoring history. currently it is heratige listed, but that will expire in 2010.. with the owner passing away in june or july (i think), it has been handed over to his kids (which love the place), so hopefully they have the knowledge, and experience to convince the government/council on how this track regarded to motoring enthusiests

id blame anna bligh, dawn crichlow, and ron clark for this.. they seem to want to keep the hoons on the street instead of providing appropriate facility for us.. and QR (the motoX track) is hardly that
