PIG208
Mornin all. Just wondering if anyone on the Gold Coast may have some of that heat proof exhaust Bandage left over?? Yes i know most performance shops stock it, but it only comes in 15foot rolls, and i only need maybe a 1-2 foot length. Willing to pay for it. If you might have some spare, please let me know

It's not for the exhaust. I am wanting to wrap my accelerator cable in it to keep heat out of it. Melted 1 outer on dyno friday night and the new one i bought saturday is starting to melt already:(

Pig i was there when the cable melted. I think the "nicer" alternative would be to get some of the sewn silver heat sleeve that is used on mainly ignition leads. I've seen it at autobarn before. Wrapping the cable in the white fibreglass tape would be hard and probably look like shit.

Just a thought!

Up till then the car looked and sounded good on the dyno. All the best with it! biggrin.gif

there is also sticky adhesive stuff much the same as pictured, its got fiberglass then a foil layer, i used it on my ac lines and cables near my manifold and dump pipe and it protected them quite well

found it at autobarn iirc.
