Well, i got a big one. A big project I mean.
Im 75% done on the new paint job
New fans and lights to be fitted. (I bodgeied and fitted the switches myself, but I need a sparky to fit the new wall lights and funky fans)
Hardwood timber floor panels arrive on tuesday for the loungeroom, kitchen, hall, bedrooms.
Finished bathroom
Finished Laundry
Finished grow room garage
then I might do some outdoor decking.
DOes anyone have excperience hangning a 50" plasma on a plaster wall. I was gonna mount the bracket to the wall studs but, for the life of me, something seems not right about doing it this way.
The exterior is white colorbond, but its a little faded in some areas. Can this stuff be sprayed? Would love to give it a nice new coat of white.
Well, was supposed to have this finished before New Year's, but meh, thats why I moved here, so I dont have to be in such a rush.
Some pics:

Done two of the bedrooms, the bathroom and crapper and laundry look nice, but will have to get some pics up.
The hardwood floor is that hybrid stuff. its got a 4mm top plank of hardwood then two layers of bonded cores mounted opposing(I went for Nyotah. It was the best looking timber with cost in mind. Otherwise it would have been blackbutt or spotted ash. This is the single strip version, it is awesome stuff).
You will see these flooring options on ebay from as little as $14m2. They are not hardwood. Just a photo of hardwood over mdf core. This stuff is warranted for 25years and landed here it cost me about $80m2 including underlay, sealant, sound core and frieght. You can get in clicklock or glue lock. The single strip looks best, but takes longest to lay. The three strip is three times quicker to lay and costs about 30% less. Go figure.
I got a quote to get supply and install of Nyotah flooring from carpet choice, was looking at 11 thousand all up. I did this on my own for just under 7k. So thats 4k for car parts.
The painting is the easyest, water based ftw. I went to bunnings because thwey have the range and the convenience, not for the price

I chose the three colors in the scheme and called them : Pauls Iced Coffee, Breaka Choc, and Vanilla Malt (the trims are vanilla malt

Not bad for a bloke who prefers Classic Choc.
The fans are from Middys (JR lighting) and are fucking awesome, blow you out the door on full speed. They dont vibrate, are perfectly balanced but will slice your fingers off if you reach up.
All the lights and fittings are from JR. They are the most helpful, friendly people in Darwin when it comes to anything electrical. Great people, so helpful and friendly I feel like buying them all a beer.
Fans and lighting cost a total of $3kk all up. That includes every switch and socket being replaced with some nice new satin Clipsal switches. The kitchen was done half arse by the previous owner, a Greek builder of sorts. So its gettin arseholed and a new one put in. From scratch.
Its amazing how many ex-building site windows, doors etc... are on here. No doubt all thieved from legitimate job sites as 'excess'. Heheh.
I got a quote for some bi-folds for the big window area and french doors for the back, but i required medical attention after reading that quote. Haven't been the same since.
The garage is getting plastered and A/C's. I would love someone to come in and Airbrush the two walls. If only I could draw. I was thinking of getting those two whores from GTA IV donw up on the walls in huge sizes, with Liberty City in the background. Would look sweet i reckon

Next up is the landscaping of the whole place, and maybe a nice new fence. The pool is gonna cost $$,$$$
Those guys from Northern Rivers Timbers are super friendly too. I dealt with Sandro, and he was totally awesome, from helping me with better pricing right through to freight and even checking up on me 5 months later to see how the project went (I mentioned I was DIY'ing and he gave me everything I needed to know to make the job easier)

Der Garagen
