id be thinking its either over a bank with someones head threw the windscreen or its prob been stripped down by now..
im not real optimistic but yeah...
im not sure about rego, id say they would look at it as a standard car, no compensation for the mods etc prob about 2k for the book value on it.
thanks reddo, you cant really miss it, its fairly loud

Joash’s AE86 was stolen from his front yard on Monday(april 1st) night in Ulverstone, Tas, it looks as though it has been trailered.
The car has cost him between $15,000 and $20,000 to build to where it is today, all of which has just vanished over night leaving him with nothing but over $9000 of bank debt.
With little chance of recovering much of value now, and also getting much at all out of the insurance company, i thought it would be an idea to put it out there to have a fundraiser to try and get the man back on track. I'll be chucking in a few hundred to start with.
So if u want to donate $20 or $50 or even $100 it would be hugely appreciated, it will add up quickly and help him out alot.
Maybe even go towards another a 86! Also any unsued/unwanted parts would be hugely appreciated to assist in a new buildup.
joash was a rather up and coming drifter who basically lived for his car as many of us did....$20 isnt alot to most ppl, means 3 less drinks of a weekend, but to someone who had his life basically stolen from him and left him with abit of debt due to insurance not covering alot of the mods it means alot.....the car scene is tight, let band together and show how tight exactly it is

Coz then every1 would expect a cruise to help them after a theft
It's a shame that the car got flogged but a car alarm wouldn't have gone astray here, i had 1 on my vl and it was never touched and i live in clarendon vale where alot of you guys go looking for stolen cars

Apparently Vls are australias most stolen car! The reason it was never touched is cos the thieves don't shit where they sleep!
A couple of reasons would be that seeing as it is owned by someone in that area the thieves don't know whether it is owned by someone they don't want to be on the wrong side of, and lets face it a lot of cars are stolen by people who come to town get pissed then want a joy ride and to get home!

Well spend 20g's on a car and not put an alarm on it for all i care then, car alarms will help and do help prevent shit getting flogged and yes if they want it bad enough they will take it but atleast theres a chance of the owner hearing it going off and atleast catching them in the act or something, maybe getting a plate of a car involved in the theft.

TAS-VK, no offence, but i honestly think you have NFI about car thefts these days,
short of fornicating non stop on the bonnet of your car, nothing will stop them..
and with Joash's car it seemed like they were prepared and a car alarm might of slowed them down for 10seconds if that... the people that took his car were prepared and ready, car alarm or a dozen dildos, nothing would of helped

tasvk, if they trailored it that means it wasnt an oppurtunistic crime, they knew about it, alarms and immobilisers do sweet fa these days....

alarms help in the unplanned car theft.. when a drunk dero wants a lift home or needs to drive to his pregnant cousins house to check on his kids...
if that dero sees two identical cars sitting on a road, one with an alarm light flshing and one without. what would the dero try and steal?
yes in this case having all 4 wheels off the car and then engine removed would not have stopped them... but alarms are a good deterant.
we shoudl just leave rotties in our cars overnight

would work perfectly, bogan opens door and gets eaten by dog

sorta like those trunk monkey commercials

back on track, any one heard or seen anything of the car at all? sureley its gotta be somewhere! if i had the cash to buy a new car id be donating my r31 just to get you sideways again

Car alarms are good! But not the be all and end all. It seems most of the performance cars are stolen for rather than joy rides as where i am standing alot of the "Normal Daily Rides" Either are found thrashed or burnt out where as all this jap stuff is gone andnever found >.< it is frightening to know you can spend years and all this $$ doing a car up how you want and 5 mins and its all gone

Yeah right, that's good news, glad to hear it hasn't been torched.
If someone can get a detailed list of all the items missing, it would be handy to keep an eye out (ebay and the like).
Be good to know if the engine is fooked or not too.
Hopefully insurance money will cover what's been taken.
