As the title says. What is infinity focus..
I have tried to read it up on google sites and stuff, but i cannot understand.....

can someone with the knowledge pelase help.
And how can i achieve infinity focus on my 350D and a 400D
JuStDaVe
its at the oposite side of the lowest number on the focus it looks liek a sideways 8

just means the focus is onto infinity ( most often for landscape style stuff )
RedruM
Yeah. but, how do you know if your lens has infinity focus if it doesn't have the measurements, like the canons standard lenses that you get with the 2350d and 400d. (75-300mm and 15-55mm). I know my 70-200mm has the measurements, but once you get it there does the lens focus auto on the nearest subject? or do you still manual focus, which i would think would take it off infinity..

Does any of that even make sense?

are there any tutorials or websites i can check out. Because i want to get into Landscape and Lightning photography now...
Lance
If your using Auto focus, it should lock onto where you have set your focus point, depending on distances. IE, my 100-400 will go to infinity focus at 100 meter away.

just manual focus then focus on the horizon will pretty much give u infinity focus

Bah... why on other sites, they make it out that you need to know how to build a rocket ship... when they could just explain it like that.....

I was thinking to same thing, I've noticed that on my lenses infinity focus is never really for infinity, it's always back a little, focus on the moon for example.
