2008 CLASS CRITERIA

8 Cyl Pro class:
This class is for all the unregistered 8 cylinder cars.
Engine transplants and modifications are allowed.
Registered cars can enter in this class.

8 Cyl Street class:
This class is for all registered 8 cylinder cars.
Vehicles must be registered with matching rego sticker and able to be driven on the street.

6 Cyl Pro class:
This class is for all the unregistered 6 cylinder cars.
Engine transplants and modifications are allowed.
Registered cars can enter in this class.

6 Cyl Street class:
This class is for all registered 6 cylinder cars.
Vehicles must be registered with matching rego sticker and able to be driven on the street.

Ladies class:
This class is for all ladies. (Engine size doesn’t apply)
Engine modifications are allowed.

4 Cyl class:
This is for all 4 cylinder cars.
Engine modifications are allowed.

All vehicles entered in the Kalbar Burnouts must be in reasonable condition.
All entrants’ vehicles must have mufflers fitted. (No more open headers). All panels must be in place this includes hoods, bonnets, doors and boots.
All vehicles must past scrutineering before competing in any burnout comps.
The Fassifern Car Club reserve the right to refuse entry to any vehicle not meeting class criteria or passing scrutineering in the 2008 Kalbar Burnouts.

Kalbar Burnouts Event Rules

Welcome to the Kalbar Burnouts; please take a minute to read the rules on how the burnouts and other driving events are run.
These are designed to ensure that you the competitor and the spectators are here for a good and safe time.


Burnouts
1/ All vehicles must pass scrutineering.
2/ No wheel weights and trims on burnout tyres.
3/ Tyre sprayers are not allowed.
4/ All panels must be in place this includes hoods, bonnets, doors and boots.
5/ All vehicles must have mufflers fitted.
6/ Seat belts must be fitted & fastened.
7/ Long sleeve shirt & long pants must be worn.
8/ Covered footwear to be worn. (No thongs)
9/ Helmets must be worn.
10/ Classes will run separate. (So wait till your class is called before lining up)
11/ Drivers will have 60 secs in their first burnout and 90 secs in their second burnout.
12/ The judge’s judge on: Instant Smoke, Constant Smoke, Vehicle Performance & Driver Control, each judge scores out of 40. The chief judge has the final say. (Points are not given for blowing tyres but it is taken into consideration).
13/ Your time starts when the front wheels of your vehicle cross’s the start line. If you stuff up your start and you haven’t crossed the start line you can back out and start again.
14/ When your times up you will be shown the “Time Is Up” sign you must start leaving the pad, if you don’t the “Exit Now” sign will be shown, and if you still don’t leave the pad, you will be blacked flagged and your run won’t be counted.
15/ No static burnouts, you will be shown the“Keep moving” sign.
16/ “Caution Water” means your loosing water its up to you if you keep going. But you will be asked to leave if it gets too bad.
17/ If you see the “Fire” sign stop your car, turn off the ignition and pop the bonnet and move away from the car and let the fire marshals do their job.
18/ No donuts before the first yellow control line or after the second yellow control line. This will result in a loss of points in driver control and possibly a black flag. (Instant disqualification)
19/ Obey all track & fire marshals signs & directions.
20/ If for any other reason the marshals want you to stop the Red flag will be waved.
21/ When you leave the burnout pad the Fire Marshall will stop you to check your vehicle.
22/ If you are running nitrous or methanol you must tell the track marshals.
23/ 10km/h speed limit applies to the grounds at all times
24/ Not complying with any of these rules will result in a black flag.
25/ It is the drivers responsibility to be unaffected by drugs and alcohol while competing in the Kalbar Burnouts.
26/ Passengers are not allowed in vehicles while competing

Go- To-Whoa
1/ Helmet must be worn.
2/ Long sleeve shirt & long pants must be worn.
3/ Seatbelt must be worn.
4/ No burnouts past yellow control line during warm-up.
5/ Start line official lines vehicle up, when driver is given the ok to run, he/she may commence run.
6/ The driver’s time starts when their front wheel crosses the start line.
7/ To record a time the driver needs to stop their front wheel/s between the two white lines at the other end of the track.
8/ A red light at the finish line means you overshot do not back up. No time recorded.
9/ 10kph exit speed applies, no burnouts when leaving finish line.
10/ Maximum 3 runs per entrant.



Any prize money and trophies that aren’t collected at the end of the day remains the property of the Fassifern Car Club.
