Nice work Mike, only thing I was shown at my last shoot was, avoid the hair over the eyes, you need the eyes to be the point of focus and be the sharpest thing in the photo.
Dont know if I like the chicks pose in the last one, but hey, we all have different ideas, otherwise we would all produce the same images
47ACK!
Apr 6 2008, 10:14 PM
thank you lance. ! love your advice! and yeah i dont really tell em what to do . i was sorta letting her do her own thing
Nick_
Apr 7 2008, 06:51 AM
Yeah now I think about it her eyes are all dark and in shadows, flash-fill might have fixed that..
I guess the more experience you get, the more confident you are in telling them what to do. After all, they're just the subject and you're the one capturing the idea (technically, I'm not woman-bashing!).

Nice shots. Heres a quick tip. Try to get the flash off the camera. You might have to get a wireless transmitter or similar to sync with your speedlight but the results especially in portraits will be wicked. A cheaper method would be a reflector. Mess with the light!

Damn 8 is HOT, nice work! Hand held at 1/20th?
Good comp, sky is great and gives the car a great attitude, pity it wasn't something nicer ala light blue GTR in Matt Meads thread (I love that car

)
I assume you didn't use any lighting kit, that would've made it just that one bit better.. Fantastic work!

wats happened to you mike havent seen you at the spit or maccas in ages nice shots by the way

thank you heaps nick. Yes! hand held!
Sadly i forgot to put the little screw in tripod thing back on my camera..
So bringing the tripod to find that out really frustrated me.
It also resulted in me being let down a little as the sunset and time flew by.
No lighting kit. This this is actually my mums car..
Im still dipping my toes in the water and testing wether i want to get back near the car scene and photography again...
Ive had my break ..
Just wish i had the cash to get a little bit of help in the equipment side of things
Yeah mr rody. havent been near a cruise of a hot spot in a long time.. feels good to be honest.
Very sick of the wankers involved and there are so many!
And saving money is a big thing to. trying to get into the property market soon

Dude, i like the last one of the bike, but I feel a little more angle could've got it a bit more creative.. They feel a little 'stiff' if you will, to me.
I thought the corner of the wall in the left would kill it for me but it adds a little extra to the shot I think.

Very nice setting for the bike shot!
I agree with Nick though, a little more angel would just make it stand out so much more
