Hey Think this is my first post here, had an account here for awhile never used it. Saw this forum and well decided to post some pictures of my Toyota Lexcen Station wagon which my friend wrecked.

Story is me and 4 friends decided to go out for a drive one night then there wasnt room for my girlfriend at the time so we were going to drive up and visit her and all hang out. When i picked up my last friend he wanted to see what my car was like and drive it there, its a good 15 minute drive there but fair enough i trusted him he said he wouldn't thrash it or nothing, we're both P platers and back then had our licenses for about 3 months.

On the way we ran into my friend and his girlfriend at the traffic lights owns a lovely Fairmont and wanted to race us but i said don't do it because it was really heavily raining and this place goes uphill and curves so i didn't wanna risk anything. Turns out he was heading same place i was so we ended up following him the whole way. I'm pretty sure my friend was trying to race him but holding himself back.

2 Corners away from my girlfriends house I don't know what happened my tyre's had full tread because they were brand new and he wasn't thrashing it. But when we turned right the cars rear end just slipped out (probably because it was new smooth road and it was really wet) and we were heading for an island with a keep left sign on it, and he just hit the brakes and locked the wheel all the way left and the car started to swing to the left and out of nowhere was a Nice '91 BMW just sitting there on the front lawn of a nice house. Tried to steer right again to dodge it but he ran into it.

Needless to say I was REALLY pissed off and had the biggest go at him, i only asked him for $2500 for the car and ive only got $100 to date and that was enough for the tow truck and he owes $12000 to the BMW owner, really sucks for a 17 year old sad.gif.

The BMW barely had any damage on it, just smashed tail lights and a big dent in the bumper, my car took all the damage as you can see in the picture. Insurance company said the BMW was a write off but i highly doubt it would've been unless i dunno, twisted chassis or something? My car wasn't insured either so :-/ yeh sucks for me, i got the car for free because it was my parents car before they got their new one nothing wrong with it either. I Learnt my lesson, don't let people drive your car unless they are rich smile.gif

Thats exactly what we said, but they said he owes them for the entire value of the car because apparently the car was a write off which we said it was bs. So even though he dented the rear bar and smashed the taillights the insurance company is making him pay the whole value of the car because its a write off which we found REALLY hard to beleive. We reckon the insurance company is just playing him so he pays more.
